I think a lot of the people complaining about the fight length aren't actually annoyed purely at the length of the fight. There have been some decent cutaways during it, and quite a bit of story development happening around it. The fight is long, sure. But it's the fact that the fight is long AND the release schedule is fairly slow. So it takes forever to get out of it. Once the fight is actually done, if you were to go back over and binge the fight, it would be long but I don't think it particularly overstays its welcome.

By god do I want it to end, but mostly because I want the next chapter, not because I don't like the fight :p
Yeah, the wait hurts a lot. But this boss has a lot going with it that keeps make it longer.

Good grief. The Evil Exes entered the dungeon in Chapter 19 and we’re STILL not out of this fight. Still, it could be worse—the boss fight in My Wife Is The Demon Queen lasted 110 chapters.

bitch what are you trying to prove??? Your old party and OP childhood friend wouldn't even reach that level of the dungeon boss even if they tried
He will prove that he can conquer the dungeon BY HIMSELF

I'll be honest, I just skimmed this manga from chapter 1 up to the latest just to see the traitor get punished or whatever. And I understand that he wants to prove to himself that he's not the same useless guy that the bastards claim him to be, but is that really important right now?

Because it's not just his life he's risking here but also his CF, the surveillance guy or whatever, and the dragon girl for being a stubborn brat.

As a reader, I wouldn't be surprised if the dragon girl could beat this mini-boss easily, but not Dion. So shouldn't he think it's better to team up against it?

Oh, btw. If he managed to solo this, he better just go solo as an adventurer. Because he's just a walking one man party.

Yeah, I don't think our MC has ever given a crap about his CF or anyone else for that matter. I mean, he hasn't even acted as a normal human being in the entire story (which is typical for these type of protags). The author just wants to show off how cool his main character that he created is, but you can't think about the the story, the pacing, the plot, or the logic in the choices the characters make, otherwise everything falls apart.

If you're looking at a high level, you're absolutely right. But insecurities are deeper than "I'm insecure because Gary said I suck, so if I beat Gary I won't be insecure anymore!"

Dion said "If I stop here, while being looked down on, my blood will never stop boiling" which, when translated from Edgelord into English, is: "If I give up now, while being looked down on, I'll never grow past this."

He's been beaten down and trampled on until he had little self-esteem left. He's finally starting to believe in himself and ran into an opponent who is looking down on him the way his tormentors did, triggering a trauma response. He believes that he needs to beat this guy on his own or everything everyone said about him will be true (which, it's not. As you pointed out, he's already more than proven himself to everyone... everyone but himself, and no one is a harsher critic about you than you)
This plus he was left for dead because of said weakness in the beginning. You dont just shrug that shit off

The small droplet of story has dried, and now we're stuck in a never ending kindergarden fight where everyone got a "but this is not my final move in fact" after each other.

Whenever the protagonist seems to be on the verge of death in stories like this is when the reversals happen. It's either Dion baited his enemy for a big counter (so he can uno reverse the boss's "save your trump card for last" words back at him) or his powerful new friends are finally stepping in for some much needed teamwork.

I do think this battle has lasted long enough, please resume the payoff with the punishment of the actual baddies... for instance, Yuki has yet to make a move regarding the fools who tried to kill her beloved target of obsession...

Okay, Dion trying to solo this Boss is kinda stupid, but he is obviously doing this because of his trauma, so nothing else to say here.

But. What's the deal with the Boss? First he speaks like some computer controlled entity, then suddenly starts taunting Dion like he is an avatar played by a human in some kind of VR game. Are his "computer speak" and temporary sapience gonna be explained in the future?
