'For a friend', yeah, sure, pal...

The cliffhanger left us at quite the sticky place...

She'll be alright. Anyone shrewd enough to lead a thieves guild knows never to blame the messenger.
Besides, who ever heard of a thieves guild paying taxes?

@Nightdotexe @deerafl @Nemo2342

I had the exact same thought! Maybe they *are* paying taxes! Ank-Morpork style.

"Taxes? Of course we pay taxes. We run a 'onourable business 'ere!"
"Yeah, like they says, honour amongst thieves and whatnot!"
"Can't run a bloody organisation if ya don't respect the grand scheme of things, ya know?"

In before the Thieves Guild is actually full of nice people that help her out, or the whole thing is forgotten next chapter. She needs a break.

@Confused Possibly a jab at the cost of legal services...pretty sure pop culture often compares it to highway robery.

@Loksel judging by the amount of youtubers getting extorted by false copyrights, even by LEGALLY EXISTING companies, it's not highway robbery. it's a goddamn daylight bank robbery, WITH a tank. straight through the front door.

Reminder that Yakuza outfits tend to be legally registered and have formal, readily found offices. (The Japanese have a rather strange relationship with their homegrown organised crime.)
