I don't say this lightly, but both in term of density and quality of the gags this manga is playing in the same league as Discworld, the eternal giant of this genre of satiric fantasy. It's even thematically similar, and the characters are written and designed with the same attention to detail. The heroes are Pratchettian heroes - not paragons of virtue flawed people trying to do their job or simply to stay alive as best as they can. I want to say it's a little more madcap, maybe as a result of seat-of-the-pants writing rather than consisting of planned out novels.
