Now that's what I call a male lead.

Does he have red flags? Maybe. But thus far nothing in his behavior is actually an attempt to constrain or control her. His reward might be a little manipulative (if she values him), but it also MEGA supports her goal of getting eyes on this slaying.

Maybe he's a bit concerning but he's essentially giving himself up to be used, so is it really that bad?

I personally don't think it's much of a red flag, but even if it was a red flag it makes him an interesting character and I like that better than just a green forest!
