Oh, well that's dumb, and seems like a contrived way to stretch this misunderstanding out on the author's part. Here I thought there was going to be some characterization.
I know right? That is literally why I began to read the wn. "like why don't she just wait for him to wake up and apologize? No matter what the reason he lost his eye and almost die".like there must be a strong reason why she can't just immediately apologize, but I still can't find the reason why she didn't just apologize in those 2 year so I am just gonna assume Sasha and her party is a psychopath who have no empathy toward their ex party member
And no I will not accept "because she is too scared to apologize" as a reason, her entire point of banishing him is because she is scared he will die if he continues so it's pretty dumb if she didn't even wait for him to wake up to makes sure he is okay.

I am going to ask your forgiveness and say I ain't reading all that. So if I miss a point you made, sorry.

I realize my position as reader gives me certain information the protagonist doesn't. That doesn't really address the issue I have with the fact that the escalation doesn't make sense.

There's nothing to gain from him being killed after getting booted from the party. It doesn't harm their reputation he is alive, everyone thought he was dead weight at that point. He certainly had no way to threaten them physically or other wise. It's either a net 0 or a loss if they were caught.

Coupled with their long history, even if the relationship was soured it wouldn't be crazy to want some confirmation, even if it's just a verbal confrontation.

I DO think that the initial betrayal allows him to make that assumption, especially in the moment, but two years on he doesn't even question events? Especially she's apparently not trying to kill him anymore? She attempted murder because she didn't keep her promise to be big and famous together doesn't really hold up to scrutiny, it does makes sense when it's fueled by his own anger and possibly self loathing for not being "good enough".
You didn't read anything of what I wrote, that perfectly addresses what you originally asked in your original post, and much of this one btw....

As for the final part. Hyce knows that:
A: the entire Party is not powerful enough to kill him even if they try, as I said in my initial post that you did not read , the man soloed an SS+ monster that requires a whole S rank party to take down.

B: If they did try to kill him again after the first time and failed, they would have no excuse this time around and Hyce would wipe them out in retaliation, plus the guildmaster would know that Hyce's claim was correct in his accusation in the unlikely case they succeeded .

C: In the two years that have passed Sasha has not even bothered to apologize to Hyce for sending him there even as a mistake, the Party left the town for a quest while he was still unconscious.

S rank in 2yrs and bro still don't know how to properly kill things without ruining the materials? Is he maining that grenade launcher?
Just waiting for the time he finds someone else who was abandoned to get him to trust again lol
The man is killing high ranked monsters, mostly using a grenade launcher. Good luck trying to kill a dragon or other similarly powerful monster with conventional firearms.

It's easy to criticise his behaviour due to our outsider reader perspective.
Let be real here, there are moment like this in everyone life that drag uncomfortable long like he did.

Basically betrayal without betrayal. N I can see being justified better than most if they end up reconciling. It can be a well deserved redemption, but this depends on how she feels. Whether she has any sense of guilt and regret for what she did.

Apparently C is knowledge from the wn, so I am not sure why I am expected to have read that before finding this manga trending. It's contrived and only really reinforces my point that this doesn't makes sense.

As far as killing him, if that was the plan they didn't even need to kick him in the first place, have an "accident" in some dungeon and be done with it. The fact that it was apparently done in an obtuse way should at least make you question it.

Even in the immediate aftermath, they KNOW his skill is powerful, they just didn't know how it would manifest. If they were serious about offing him, they wouldn't give him two years to learn how to use it, especially if they didn't know if he would come fore revenge.

In fact, why didn't come for revenge if he was SURE Sasha tried to murder him?

Agree to disagree. I just think this is a poor start to the story.

It's more like they're hypocrites & Hyce knows that & he eventually calls them out on that.

You speak from the advantageous position of the reader, where you can see both points of view.

You have to see it from Hyce's point of view, prior to the point where Sasha kicked him out of the party it would seem unthinkable to him that she would ever betray the promise they made in front of their parent's graves no less.

And yet he was blindsided when she did exactly that, and again from his point of view she didn't do it to protect him, because she literally told him : "we want to advance to A-Rank and when that happens you'll only keep dragging down the rest of the team, and I plan for us to be the best team"

So in Hyce's mind she kicked him out of the party because she cared only for her own goals that apparently now don't align with the promise she made with Hyce

All of this is true. In addition, he wasn’t treated very well in the party for a significant period of time and was being used as a pack mule, chef, maid, etc. Piazzola in particular, but also Reginald, gave him a tough time. Of course both of them wanted him gone so they could fuck Sasha, his lack of skills was a secondary issue. Only the girl with goggles consistently treated him well.

honestly the more I read the wn the more I think that hyce know everything from the beginning but decided to hold grude while Sasha and her party is oblivious of their own hypocrisy, especially Sasha it's like that girls is denser than a neutron star and is oblivious to everything including her own though process and feeling since the very beginning, she is so dumb holy shit

In that scenario, the "accident" was the black dragon he encountered in the herb field.

They also didn't give him any time to learn his skill. In the previous chapter when he got kicked out of the party, he was about to mention the book as well as a few ideas to counter his lack usefulness but they didn't want to listen. They had already convinced themselves that he was dead weight and there was no way he could ever get strong enough to be a part of their team.

The key part in why he didn't get "revenge" was that he was going to show Sasha that her ideology regarding "abandoning" the weak was wrong. She abandoned a weak teammate (her special childhood friend) so that her team can become the strongest. He will become the strongest by not abandoning anybody.

Think about killing a rat with a granade launcher. That is his problem. He doesn't have access to precise weaponry yet.
Doesn't he have that book on firearms? Surely he could've found something in there more precise, powerful and less explode-y lol

The MC is edgy for no reason...
Did you read the same thing I did?

He:
1) made a promise with his childhood friend in front of his parents graves.
2) spent some time with his childhood friend's party, who at some point started snapping at him with verbal abuse.
3) immediately after being told "you're only dragging us down." is told "you're kicked out of the party."
4) spends two months being treated as the shame of Childhood friend's party and being told they're better off without him.
5) the one act of kindness since being kicked out that made him think "hmm, maybe she does care?" immediately lead to his near death.

Following this sequence of events, I'd literally have the exact same thought "my childhood friend wants me dead because I'm a stain on her honor."

How does C exactly reinforces your point? Because it doesn't. Even if you don't take that into account it will come up in the next chapter.

Again, assuming that they did want to kill him, how do you think the guild would react if they lost one of their members even in an "accident", because if I were a guild master, I would almost certainly say "You bit off more than you could chew and that resulted in the death of one of your members, that shows that you still lack what it takes to go up a rank, forget about advancing, you should consider lucky I am not demoting you".

They did know that his skill will be at some point in the unknown future powerful and as Reynold said "And when will that day be?". Heck that even supports the "theory" that they wanted to off-him, better to do it now while he is still weak, rather than later when he might come back and take revenge, or at the very least become someone powerful with a good reason to crush our party.

As to why he didn't come for revenge, I would say that's rather obvious. For one he still has feelings for her(not necessarily romantic one), she is obviously an important childhood friend. And for another, if Sasha dies/disappears with no explanation all fingers will be pointing at Hyce, and that would make his dream to help people as an adventurer impossible.
The real revenge he is enacting even now, is fulfilling the promise they once had made without her and on his own power.

We learn later that he has to "unlock" his weapons. Upon awakening, he only had access to a few weapons at the start.
