I'm glad at least Anna has an issue with her, but with the way even she treats Etra I get the feeling this is all gonna get swept under the rug, especially after she inevitably tells Kaiser whatever "reason" she had for attacking the capital and potentially killing thousands of people.

Incoming "it was just a test!" explanation or something. I forget, did the hydra/cyclopes actually kill anyone? Or could she walk it back saying "well ACTUALLY the monsters I released were controlled to not actually kill anyone, so no harm no foul right (besides all of the side-effects like destruction and monster activity increasing)"?

I know this story has a lot of overpowered characters, MC included, but at least they trained for it. Unless the annoying girl will get some background exposure, that's my first impression.

For anyone curious, here's the method Anna uses against Etra at the end of next chapter, how that works out in Anna's favor and how Etra cannot escape Anna

A very simple cycle that uses Etra's gambling addiction:
Anna assigns monster hunting work to Etra(amount may vary)
Etra kills the monsters
Etra gets paid
Anna doesn't immediately force Etra to pay the debt to the kingdom
Etra uses pay on gambling
-If Etra wins money, she may pay part of the debt off, pays her living expenses, uses rest on gambling
-If Etra loses money, Anna will be the "nice" guild master and lend her money for living expenses, increase the debt to the kingdom and her
Anna entices Etra with good pay for monster hunting again, Etra accepts. Anna's workload lessens with each cycle repetition.

And thus the cycle repeats over and over and over and over

Anna who suffers overtime hell has made sure how to get Etra to work every day until her overtime is over. The debt to the kingdom is gonna be a secondary concern. Anna prioritizes getting rid of her overtime first.

The only hiccup in this is Etra can teleport away but the gambling addiction is gonna keep her trapped.

With how they're treating Etra, they are definitely not letting her get away scot-free. Even if they know they can't restrain her by force, they won't let her do as she pleases until she fixes the messes she makes. And in regards to abandoning dreams, shit happens and dreams change as you grow. Kaiser said it himself why his dream changed, he felt responsible for his daughter's misfortune and raised them as his own. As such, he loved them as a father should, and his dream changed accordingly.

So, with that all said, read the manga again, and see what details you might have missed. It's a matter of reading comprehension.
