Of course, this works fine until it doesn't and then you die. No wonder his generation had such high fatality rates. Naturally, anyone good enough to have made it through is stronger than the modern dungeon explorers, but I don't know that I'd call it a better strategy.
The current fatality rates have less to do with strategy and more generally taking no risks. It's already established that basically nobody but the top end even takes on bosses, and everyone has access to barriers that give time to look up things other people actually took the risk to figure out.
Had he not been there odds are pretty good the idiots that just stopped to try looking things up on their phones would've died there.

This is the true strength of those who came before them. Those who walked [The Path of Thorns], meaning they have endured, struggled and persevered more and gained a lot more than those who walked after them.

These arrogant new blood bozos be walking on egg shells while the man here is just plowing through like the old times. 🤣

minimally damaging monsters only matter when they can be butchered for materials.

if they just drop things only on death then the method of killing does not matter.

Did it say how old the uncle was?
either middle or late 30s, since her 'niece' is still highschool girls and when he started he seems like on his 20s,
and his niece's parents looks little older than the Uncle...

yeah he's not that old but surely he already on uncle age where he already have nieces or nephews.

Fairly accurate. The classic: use big numbers and hit it till it dies in older JRPGs. And buff/debuff stacking + weakness prodding in modern JRPGs.
