My theory is that the source of Shiika's guilt complex is that her father actually was lusting after her.

But he looked for a "replacement" to channel his lust to, instead of his daughter, and it so happened to be poor Yuri.

Damn that theory actually makes sense and is totally plausible but also totally fucked up in the saddest sense...

That's what I suspect. There was mention that shika being doxed, and of Shika being in the orphanage.
Also that such leaks were likely to prove dangerous to her. Sure hope he makes good on the promise to protect her.

I wonder if Shiika witnessed what her father did to Yuri but did nothing to stop him. That's why she's the one who felt most guilty.

Hm that's a possibility, but it happened while at the school. The brother was supposed to pick her up, and I doubt Yuri would accept any invite for a ride or walk home with mr pervert.

That one is probably his cousin, maybe shiika's father abused that one as a kid, my guess is the other girl might have told that one about shiika adoption cause she was also abused by shiika's father...

Like, one single huge issue is enough... one drama point that can be solved..

From there you can go into that one single trauma...

Don't add more problems amongst more problems..

Sometimes, when sh*t hits the fan, more sh*t gets caked onto the blades than you realize. Leading to more unforseen sh*t flying off the fan than you thought possible

While I do have several questions, like why did the girl cover for her when it seems she hated her? or who is that person at the end? What l'm most curious about is why did she say "sorry" to Yuri? Is it something like she feels she's replacing her in her brother's heart or something even more sinister? Did she maybe cause what happened to Yuri to protect herself from her monster of a father? And I don't mean indirectly but intentionally as a replacement, maybe that girl knows and that's why she said that she brings misery, that would be too fucked up, I hope it won't go into that direction

Honestly, if this were a six chapter series, this was a great way to end it. Everything wrapped up nicely at the end, and both characters resolved themselves. There really isn't a need to go beyond that, but no; there ABSOLUTELY needs to be a shady character thrown in to the mix. This new character better be good.

Glad that they were able to talk it out. Hope they become family, but with the way things went down, the relationship seems like it has the potential to go very co-dependent on the part of the older brother. I also hope they become NORMAL siblings. No weird BS where the girl grows up and marries MC (anime/manga have traumatized me).

And who the fuck is that on the last page and why is he sitting on the floor when there's a chair right there?

Shikka being sorry for Yuri tells me she was tied to what her father did one way or another. As for the freak at the end that’s just great. Another psycho to add to the mix 😭
