Okay, you know what I hope the payoff for all these isekai trope antagonists appearing is? I hope they loop back into Itsuka wanting to get kicked out of the party (not necessarily an isekai trope but heavily adjacent to the genre) where he gets corrupted by the thing corrupting the isekai peeps. Then he and Shaayu can finally lay their feelings after everything. THAT'S the ending that makes all this ridiculous stuff worth it to me. PLEASE author.

I mean it's completely silly from the start but that's what make it a bit atypical.

We went from RomCom borne out of misunderstandings and selfishness to degenerates making a mess of the world in a matter of seconds, we're pissed at the focus shift. Case in point.

I guess it's really hard to find some sort of driving force past what the oneshot established with the demon lord dead and the monsters becoming reasonable, but damn it. I just wanted to see the protagonist slowly give up his dreams of popularity and realize that the handsome guy he was jealous of was a maiden who loved him all along. God damn it man.

And if you read it until the last available chapter, you'll see that what I said is totally accurate : this manga is a parody since page 1 that makes fun of all fantasy mangas and tropes we see in them, including a "romance". And it totally keeps this focus until now.

No, that guy came second; the first just wanted to have a generic harem adventure, that was funny enough. The moment automobiles as onaholes become relevant this departed from what the oneshot established into the realm of absurdism. Even before that, the main premise was the relationship between the members of the hero party, and more specifically that between the hero and the mage. For comedic value, yes, but the issue of romance remains.

Sure, it has the same "kicked out of the XOXO only to be appreciated later" gag, but the main premise was more about the romance, or lack-thereof from their party dynamics. The main joke was about the mage wanting to be popular with women away from the hero, only for that same shining hero to be a handsome woman mistaken for a man and most of the other party members being something other than a woman; same as depicted in chapter one here. Can you really fault me for expecting more jokes about party dynamics?
Instead, it leans more into Comedy with absurdism. Yes, it parodies isekais, but page one? That's a convenient exaggeration. After poking fun at Harem MCs, you think jumping the shark with a furry Reddit joke(tm) is something to be happy about? The Fujoshi wanting to play Cinderella with an ikemen harem was fair game, but in what fucking world is an obsession with giantess and musclegirl fetishism played straight? The part about the hero being the Demon Lord's "daughter" and a slight genre shift to sci-fi with the whole DNA test-tube baby shenanigans coming up is fine, but you know what that's supposed to be building up towards?
