That was certainly sweet. Something about it made me tear up.

This was as sweet as those donuts. I love the trope of getting help from the friends we made along the way.

Wait, is the kid dead, or was that the unborn child's spirit/subconscious, or was it a raccoon all along?
edit: seems like he was a racoon

You can see the leaf over the kid's head on the first koma and we all know what that means!

Thought he was dead for sure when I saw the tunnel. Heading to the light through the tunnel is like the afterlife shit where you go to the other side to be reborn etc. Him being a raccoon actually made no sense to me at all because raccoons can't communicate to other animals... Like bruh do you see cats talking to your dogs? No, they talk to your neighbour's cat. Same logic here.

This is some weird ass chapter ngl.

@Luke_chase Oh, that makes more sense. I was sitting there thinking "ok, I get that the tanuki either imagines itself as a kid or transforms into one, but how do those people know them?", but if they're existing characters from another manga, that explains it.

@Xystus He's a tanuki as in the yokai tanuki. Instead of a "cat talks to dog" comparison it's more like "magical cat talks to dog."

@Xystus There's traits that are associated with tanuki, such as a leaf on their head and transformation.
