That girl is a birdbrain huh? She's got a trust issue about humans. Can't blame her though since humans are scums. But she's no better. She atleast listen to him since she can speak words and understand them. She's no better than a wild animals.

@ninjadork first, thank you for being reasonable.

Yes, there are those in silent agreement or indifference, but they are not a threat as long as they stay in SILENT agreement. Him fighting back would cause them and most others to drop their "silence." There is also a MASSIVE difference between restraining and beating the shit out of someone. You would be pretty fucking stupid to not insist on restraining someone who seems to have managed to kidnap one of your kind and who is capable of keeping up in a fight while blinded before further investigating the situation. Have you heard of jail? That isn't even exclusive to those who might cause you immediate harm if they're not restrained. I would also argue that even if they were insisting that he get the shit beaten out of him , that wouldn't mean they are predisposed to violence against humans in general; that would mean they are predisposed to
violence against humanss who apparently kidnap their kind.

He doesn't need to overcome a "bloody-minded hatred" unless this translation was really poor. The spokespupper said "I apologise for the sudden attack. However, we believe one of our brethren is inside of that mud wall and we want to confirm it. In order to confirm if you've kidnapped our brethren, we will be restraining you." They already confirmed that Latifa was in there. She would have used much more definitive terms about him kidnapping her had they been as "bloody-minded" as you seem to think. Just look at the last panel--the dumb bitch is looking like a dumb bitch while the elf and pupper are looking like they are surprised the dumb bitch is as big of a dumb bitch as she is (or surprised that he was so concerned about Latifa that he was crawling towards the tent as he lost consciousness) and concerned for his wellbeing respectively.

I can think of a few ways for the author to resolve this:
1) They restrain the dumb bitch as well for needlessly beating the shit out of him after the ice clearly had an affect and could have potentially restrained him sufficiently ("this has nothing to do with you, I don't need your help")
2) They restrain the "dumb bitch" because she had some encounter with human kidnappers in the past (see parenthetical quote from 1) then resolve it with him and Latifa
3) Latifa clears it up while he's unconscious and the bitter bitch is bitter about it
4) the elf and/or pupper see his genuine concern for Latifa and try to get to the bottom of it

I agree that it may be possible for the MC to fight his way through all of them... However, I don't think a 1v1 fight against a Minotaur is really comparable to a 1v?? fight while protecting someone. Especially when that 1is blinded and those ?? are not only capable of using magic, but are able to OHKO that 1 with said magic, seemingly without breaking a sweat. Those last few panels are a result of just two of the opponents pitching in. Locked in place with ice, kicked in the face to open his guard, then zapped unconscious; having some sort of magic armor would not be fighting back. He was unable to defend against the electricity. Throw in some support mages, h2h specialists, more snaring spells, and attack magic specialists and he would be pretty boned. MAYBE it would be different if he wasn't blinded, but he was. Fighting back would have most likely been suicide, but as I said before, it would have been counter productive regardless.

@Hank: I'm still mainly on ninjadorks side on this matter, even after your last post. Even if there have been those in the attacker group, that stood silent, they waited for a moment to strike. Even though the command to listen to him has been given out, that winged bitch wasn't the only one, who "attacked". One of the supports restrained him with ice magic, although he clearly just wanted to evade an attack, that has been performed in violation of orders. This might have been the action of a nervous support team member or the attempt to prevent a counter attack of MC, but I tend to interpret this as a malicious deed, to help to beat him up/kill him, as you have to interpret the actions of this group as a whole. (If the team leader doesn't have her people under control, it is her own fault.)

"[...] that wouldn't mean they are predisposed to violence against humans in general; that would mean they are predisposed to violence against humanss who apparently kidnap their kind."
That "apparently" says it all. They didn't have prove enough to engage in those kind of restraining action, that might end with his death. They couldn't truly know, if he is just a human or a human, that actually kidnapped their kin. Even if it looked bad, they didn't even gave him the chance to surrender, as that wing bitch attacked with potential lethal attacks.

"I apologise for the sudden attack. However, we believe one of our brethren is inside of that mud wall and we want to confirm it. In order to confirm if you've kidnapped our brethren, we will be restraining you."
So, let's imaging a rich billionaire has been kidnapped and the police is lucky enough to react very fast and they are able to block of most streets leading out of the neighbourhood. They have a vague description of the car used to get away. Now some random guy, that is innocent, comes along, but he drives the wrong car model with the wrong car color at the wrong time and wrong place. The police stops him and tells him, "We have good reason to believe you might have kidnapped a fellow citizen, so we are going to ...(And here it is, that it goes downhill.)...going to restrain you to make sure, he isn't in your car." And then a violent cop attacks him with his truncheon. That guy evades those attacks, but although another officer tells him to stop, another officer manages to sneak up and grab him, so the violent one can finally beat him down until he loses conciseness.
In both scenarios, the police one and the fantasy one I missed one sentence: "Please stand aside, so we can check that matter."

I know, that those aren't police officers and the circumstances are a bit more wild in those woods, as slave traders might use lethal force on the spot, but they still acted excessively brutal. If he says "Ah, it fine." afterwards, I have to hurl.

@Qelix One of the supports restrained him with ice magic... After the command was given to restrain him. The dumb bitch was mad at the ice girl for restraining him...

Yes, the "apparently" is still more than they probably should, but that was a worst case scenario (which was shown to not be the case in the latest chapter), and I only mentioned that because "predisposed to violence against humans" would mean that they would want him dead whether or not he kidnapped one of their kind. The "apparently" means that, yes, they would want to beat him up prematurely if it looks like he's a slaver, but they would not once it became clear that he is not a slaver.

Yes, your example is very likely to happen in both the real world and here. Glad we can agree. They would not kill the suspect, but they would most likely subdue him, and possibly punish the dumb bitch who escalated the situation. However, a better example would be if some minority group/foreigners were to frequently kidnap young women/girls and enslave them. Then a group of border patrol found a member of said minority group/foreigners with such a young woman/girl in the back of his van.

@Hank: "One of the supports restrained him with ice magic... After the command was given to restrain him." Hmmmm. Okay that might be possible, but a possible malicious intention is also still in the room. And their group as a whole still did nothing to hold that bitch back. (Which might have been stupid against a real slaver, but acting against orders is stupid, too)

The other example: If they would beat up the minority group member of that group/foreigner on the spot, just because he has a young women sleeping on his backseat (, because he found her collapsed on a roadside and was looking for the police or border control), that would have been excessively brutal, too. (Poor Canadians :( )

In the end he tried to reason with them and I firmly do believe he would have complied to orders, if that bitch(still part of that group) wouldn't have attacked him all the time and they would have given him orders. (They only managed to communicated, that "restraining" means "beating you into your early grave" in their dictionary.) That's a bad fantasy border control there. Very, very bad!

Yes, and excessive brutality is a thing in real life. Nobody here is saying the dumb bitch was right. In real life, they most likely would've restrained him as well, and it's very possible that some douchenozzle cop would've taken it too far and beaten the shit out of him. However, without trying to run away or fight back (he was blocking, not attacking), chances are low that he would be killed. The minute he pulls a gun or throws a punch, though, all bets are off.

So he can defeat a fuck ton of lizardmen and flying "lizards" but can't overpower some random beast person. Totally believable yep nothing wrong here.

Uh, yes, actually? The lizardmen and their winged friends didn't exactly seem to be using magic or anything. So far this time, he was blinded, attacked by someone probably using body enhancement magic on top of probably just being stronger than humans to begin with (even Latifa thought she'd be stronger than him from that exact thing and she's kind of a child), one of the attacks was a total sucker punch while his guard was down too so that certainly didn't help him, and then someone else restrained him so she could press her advantage even more. I dunno why this chick doing so well against him doesn't seem plausible to you.
