If here's Life spirit, then there should be Death Spirit, and in this environment, it should be overflowing with it. but I guess that the Death Spirit must be treated like the plague by other spirits, so Sylph doesn't want him to contract with one, I guess~

Not necessarily. For starters, death can be just "absence of life" and therefore just a part of the other and not an independent existence.

And even if there death spirit, this environment isn't exactly overflowing with it. I mean, sure, there is almost no "life", but there is also almost no "death", because there were no life from the begining.
This is just a dessert with nothing, stagnant existence, no death, no life.

Well, i guess it's all comes from pearson each own interpretation.
