Yeah, this is a light-hearted comedy :D
Reading it always makes me happy.
It's not like the last few chapters have ripped my heart out of my body and stabbed it several time, before throwing it in a pool of innocent children's tears.
Not at all like that.

Well, if you're searching for me, I'll be in that corner. Not crying and not thinking about fatality and the meaninglessness of life. Of course, I won't be doing that. Not at all.

Well correct me if I'm wrong but Alsha never saw Mao as other than the fairy Mao right?
He only thought of her as a very strong fairy, as Maou is the last thing he could thought of.

@Kyujyu

True. I think since the majority of the chapters have focused on Mao, I've always assumed that they both knew about the other's existence, but clearly that's only a one-way thing.

@Nogoodnms

I haven't been taking the depressing parts too seriously cause, AFAIC, the endgame is Mao and Alsha becoming a cute demon lord - hero family like in Maoyū. Granted that was the beginning of that series, but imagining the two like that keeps me going.

Disclaimer - I only read as much as I've scanalated, so I'm only ever one chapter ahead. ?

It's at times like these that I wish I didn't read the chinese scans to spoil myself...

To give those that didn't spoil yourselves warning:
it's only going to get darker whenever they visit plot points. That's just about the only thing I can say without giving anything away.

OK, so the demon lord fights the hero because the hero hunts the demon lord down and gives them no choice. But if I'm the hero . . . what's my motivation here, again?
Your reward for defeating the demon lord and saving humanity from the demons, lovely assistant would you sweep aside the curtain, it's a brand new . . . death!

Alsha strength comes from people belief, faith in "hero" but it has to be The Hero, Mao unknowingly helped in this by disposing other "heroes".
He is so weak because all the churches were abandoned, people only treated the story as a folk tale to cash in on.
Even if they visited places or bought merchandise, it was for their personal enjoyment.

Thought Big Sis was a fairy, but she said "human", hmm... yeah and she can't cook anything except charcoal ; )

Seems like there's no option, if the Demon Lord wins or they form a truce and never meet each other, demons will let loose and it's the age of them ruling over humans with those that are perverted sentient, consuming other lower demons.
