I mean, it did get more complicated. Doesn't mean it is more difficult for the mcNo, it didn't get complicated....
Authors need to stop trying to give these basic tropes for underdog protagonist to over powered ones... it just doesn't work....

He covered the arena so no one could see what he was doing. He's also using new magic so they don't know what's happening to the opponents."I AM SO POWERFULLL!" from that glass guy. never understood why these kind of people can stay in the school if they are this cruel to others.
Maybe not in the battle sense, but in another way? Not that I expect it though. No, it didn't get complicated....

They are good at not getting officially caught, which is why bullying is so deeply rooted everywhere. As a teacher, it took me almost a year to finally get a glimpse of what was going on among my 3rd-grade students so I could address it (we can't act on speculation). Imagine what goes on with older students, who only get better at hiding and coercing."I AM SO POWERFULLL!" from that glass guy. never understood why these kind of people can stay in the school if they are this cruel to others.
A teach that addressed the bullying? I hope you didn’t penalize the victim and let the bully go free because the victim physically fought back. That would be waaaaay within the confines of the trope. They are good at not getting officially caught, which is why bullying is so deeply rooted everywhere. Never! Although, in this case, there wasn’t even any fighting back - the bullied just wanted to fit in (he was paying for some stuff from the school cafeteria just so he could sit with his "friends" during lunch). I explained to him that one doesn't need to buy friendship and that he didn't have to accept the way they were treating him. Then I encouraged him to approach another group of students from the same grade who were more inclusive. The bully has their own issues, though, that are harder to deal with, but we're handling it one step at a time.A teach that addressed the bullying? Oh that’s bloody nice. My bullies just want the power trip. And who better to bully than the scrawny nerd who pops off like Donald Duck at a moment’s notice?Never!
