That time when an important upgrade item/good equipment for the build (or even worse, a dumb trophy!) in your game is gated behind a stupid casino or some sort of minigame (and the aspect tested you just unluckily not very good at or very luck based).
When you finally finished the game 20% of the total play time (or more!) ended up spent grinding for that item.
And don’t forget when checking online for tips, people just say git gud or they said they got it in their first roll or something. Fun times.

The rates are probably different. The players must be talking with the context that normal currency is almost useless and that it's normal for a person to have millions even mid game. Losing some would probably not be anything significant for a player. And if they do keep playing the mini game, it'd be bound to actually be helpful, as long as your funds last.

she obviously just didn't play poker since that's the game that always has exploits. slot machines rarely work like this.

I think the internet told her to go to the casino in order to get the items from the casino coins. In that case it makes the gamble to be like gacha pulls, where you can get it cheap, or expensive, either way all your money spent there are gone, and the mash button strat is just a way to quickly convert the money to casino coins. Meanwhile Rona got addicted and put back the casino coin just to get more pulls, which makes the case to be a proper slot trap.
