I'm not going to say you're wrong, but I am going to say you're not right. I've lived in a few different states and I've never once heard it called that. Remember we can't even agree on what soda is called.

On the West-Coast we refer to them as Rescue-Breaths, at least. I've never heard Artificial-Respirations outside maybe Intubation. It's always been referred to as Rescue-Breaths.

For what it is worth, I recall hearing it mostly as "mouth-to-mouth", shortened from mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Occasionally artificial respiration, usually in more serious formats.

I've heard "rescue breathing" a few times more recently. I think it is a newer term, possibly created to downplay the "isn't that kissing?" nonsense. Possibly just to avoid hard-to-say, hard-to-spell words like respiration and resuscitation.

Artificial respiration is kind of a catch all, both human and mechanical assistance.
When getting more specific, generally the term I've heard throughout the midwest is mouth to mouth resuscitation.
