You can probably argue that he was in shock or smth but thats prime asshole behaviour from the husband. If he actually loved her hed be much more concerned about the mental and physical wellbeing of HIS WIFE who not only, like him, lost a baby, but also had a horrible accident. Maybe he apologized sometime after but thats still a horrific thing to do and we even see her blame herself for something she couldnt possibly see coming because of what he said.
Speaking of gaslighting, we see the politicians son executing a masterful manipulation, no doubt honed under the tutelage of his politician parent, all to make the one guy who they used and abused think of himself as a terrible person and as if he bears the main responsibility (there were for sure a multitude of other ways than through him that they coulda delivered them, even if he refused).
Im assuming that last part is sensei tracking the routines of her students in order to make better plans, which is neat to see as a chekovs gun.
