As someone who was a little obnoxious about bl as a teen, looking back i think I did it essentially out of protest. Being in the weeb fandom means being inundated with hypersexual imagery of women, so for me spamming hypersexual imagery of bl, which had no women was a way to rebel.This manga gets a pass for me due to how they're tackling this topic, and also how homosexuality isn't the main point of this manga, it's just tackling the struggles that 3 highschool boys are going thru
The thing that does rub me the wrong way is the fans that like to shove that interest down other people's throats
I've had a Facebook friend years ago who was into BL and man....she really made me uncomfortable with how much of that interest she tried to thrust upon me, then judged me when I addressed my feelings about it, yea never again, some women really be wilding when it comes to their BL mangas
I think a lot of people are just not used to homosexuality that they forget heterosexuality is the thing that gets shoved down everyone's throats.
