As someone who was a little obnoxious about bl as a teen, looking back i think I did it essentially out of protest. Being in the weeb fandom means being inundated with hypersexual imagery of women, so for me spamming hypersexual imagery of bl, which had no women was a way to rebel.
Give it time. I think that Mahiro will become a very good friend of Asahi, given that she has a 0% chance of ever falling for him. Asahi has the problem of never being able to have genuine friendships with girls, due to them always falling for him, so this could become an extremely valuable relationship to him.Yeah, that's about as much as I would expect from a convenient lesbian that was conveniently written into existence just to move the story forward quickly. Barely alive, just there to literally lecture the protagonist.

Normally i‘d be in that camp too but given how the arcs have gone I’ve decided to stick aroundI think the mangaka is handling this topic well so far and I hope that this arc will leave some readers more understanding and informed. Probably some people went “BL? Eeew” and dropped this and that’s kinda sad
The point that I was trying to make was less about the little miss convenient lesbian over there and more about the author sucking so hard at writing in general. Idk, the last 2 arcs are more "tell" instead of "show".
