The guy probably did nothing but love him, eventually that ended up costing him his life. Now the girl will be depressed for a few years, then eventually she'll start recovering and loving another guy in complete bliss with no consequence, probably a guy that knows his way with words to make her feel less guilty - to make her feel it's not her fault. I'd much rather prefer her to be single and miserable for rest of her life... at least that would give a meaning to the life she killed rather than him just being a fuel for a blissful love for her.
