Mishima Yomu is a good writer, but his frothing hatred of little sisters is ridiculous.

First Marie in Mobuseka, deliberately written to be unlikeable. He was, by his own admission, shocked and horrified when polls confirmed that fans liked her.

Then the little sister of the MC's best friend in Intergalactic Empire. Written to be even more annoying and unlikeable. Fans still thought she was funny.

Now this. I can't take this character seriously because all I can see is the author standing behind her, jumping up and down while screaming "HATE HER DAMMIT"

Yes, fine, congratulations, you've written an actual psychopath.

It's actually the opposite. he's on record saying Ceres is his favorite character and that he has twisted delusions about little sisters. Also Marie ended up getting her own spinoff novel and most of the screentime in the main story. He's just super tsundere for imouto

I don't understand the plot. Like, parents wanted to neglect their son in favor of their daughter being the head of heir... but why, also why do they all hate the dude. If they don't care why even bother listening to his challenge, instead just disregard him completely. Or does he have some latent power where he needs to go through some trials to unlock. eitherway, I'm giving this too much thought, this is just random manga plot / logic.

it's because Ceres literally stole Lyle's abilities with her skill. She even stole his memories so he can't even remember how strong he really was.
