Clearly, Joseph appears to be planning something behind the scenes as he pretends to follow the dance. Sending Edward and company to the Coal Mine (isn't that the Mirror Clan's base of operations?) was something unexpected. I can't wait to see how Christopher plans to "cultivate" his newly acquired army and how Kate and her allies intend to move~:wtf:💦
Thks for the translation~

I assumed too early. Of course it would be the small fries who go down first.

Title is super catchy!

This chapter gave me a lot of old Sailor Moon vibes where the big bad's henchmen changed after they failed to defeat the heroes. Alsoo, did I get it right, the chapter title was also a pun on Edward falling through the floor due to stomping his feet, lmao?
Author really caught the feeling of riches to rags.

BASED FROM THE PLOT, AUTHOR FELT EDWARD TOO WELL. I guess this one is delivered with feelings.

I like that I don't know who Kate's final adversary will be.

It could be Anthony, but Joseph could ultimately be better at manipulating Anthony than vice-versa, as I suspect that he's aware of Anthony's existence.

Or Great-Grandfather could end up actually being a real character at some point, although I suspect in the end it WILL come down to Mirrors vs Mirrors.

I'm still not sure in whose camp Joseph stands, but Edward's group got exiled in one fell swoop? Excellent... the look of despair on Edward's face, that is. And he even literally fell through the floor, downfall indeed. After all that scheming, and then fallen to ruin in one night. With his pals too.

We won't be seeing him again for a while, but I'm sure he still has a role to play. And yeah, since the Mirrors faction that Jeremy was a part of was based in the mines, this one development serves to remove one group from the board, while at the same time threaten another (the Mirrors rebels in the coal mines, assuming I'm not wrong and they're still there). Kate can not afford to fight him at the same time that she's fighting against Anthony, so this is very good timing.

By Anthony's words, it's apparent that Joseph isn't his ally either. Maybe he really is a faction of his own. He is different from the other hedonistic buffoons of the 3rd floor, so I'm hesitant to lump him in with them. Then there's also the growing speculation about whether "Great Grandfather" is actually real or perhaps somebody's soot power puppet...

Edwards many failures and power moves have fnally come to bite him back.
And the result is somehow even worse than for the children.
Now Lewis is he Administrator of the Children's Wing...
...This gives Anthony total freedom of movement.
That will NOT end well.

If only Edward fell into some horse dung. Would've been perfect. Also, why did that last line sound like a child predator preparing to groom children? Because that really sounded like the words of someone who should meet with Chris Hansen.

"Thomas escaped from confinement. The false report that he died in prison."

This statement is huge. The fact that Thomas' reappearance was part of Edward's downfall makes it almost certain that Team Anthony was responsible for it. Which means that they're very likely also responsible for his amnesia. To what end? It deals a blow to Edward, but it makes me think that he's also under some sort of soot power suggestion to report back to Anthony. Which makes things very bad for Kate and blows Jeremy's cover. As for how, Lewis is already shown to have a similar soot power, but neo-Christopher's soot power is also a major wildcard. I would not be surprised if it was also some kind of mental ability.

In this chapter Anthony seemingly refers to the shadow Joseph as "Grandpa Joseph," which seems a bit strange to me, as shadows are totally distinct persons from the humans they're based on. If he's actually talking about the real Joseph, then that would kind of put a hole through the whole "Human Joseph is the Great Grandfather" theory and would also kind of contradict the statement that Joseph was the one leading the morphs.

I'm scared Edward might end up working together with Kate. He doesn't deserve a redemption.
If he's successful gathering info on the children's wing (How everyone but Kate's close friends being brainwashed) his best bet would be to work with Kate and then deal with her later, yes.
Anyway I don't know if I hate Edward that much? Like, would he still be an asshole even if he didn't grow up in the Shadow House? He has been both brainwashed with coffee and indoctrinated with the rules and values of the place.
I don't know if he is still brainwashed tbh, if he isn't fuck him.

I get the distinct impression Edward will eventually find himself siding with Kate in all this. This certainly isn't the last we'll see of him by a long shot.

Joseph sending Edward to the coal mine where the rebels are settled... I think he's trying to setup a separate rebellion since the rebels will likely manipulate Edward into rebelling. I don't think Joseph is interested in keeping the Shadow House intact
