Kept off on reading chapters since the new group so that I could binge but honestly a bit surprised people didn't expect those two to be alive. It's been a few years but I clearly remember the manga making it clear that the fall was merely a faked death so that they could escape. I wasn't expecting them to really show up again with intent of returning but them hiding away in the outside world I thought was just something everybody would know would be the case.
