Thanks for translating the author's announcement. I also wanna thank APS for the scanlation. I think 3 eps was enough for me to decide that this isn't worth reading. Prologue + 2 chapters in and the pacing is killing me. There's nothing to keep the reader gripped & keen to read the next chapter, at least that's how it was for me.

I just found this so stupid and unnecessary. Her chapters are free on the Korean app anyway. English is a widely spoken language, what's wrong with having it translated and international fans read it too? It brings popularity. Is it money she wants? More praise? Like what does she actually want from this? For it to remain in Korean only? Good Luck to this when theres better villainess stories out here. A lot of authors know about the illegal translations, the reason they don't say it its because it brings popularity to their creations. They know if its popular enough, they can sell licensing rights to other apps for officially translating. This authors is just stupidly rude. Forget her.

While the author is completely valid in their feelings they didn’t have to word this message in such a way that felt like they were saying “it’s all because of foreign fans because they want translations and it’s ruining my health and this webtoon”. Maybe it was just the excessive amount of times they said “foreign” and should’ve instead directed it at “illegal translating groups” instead, but it makes fans feel like crap when you sound like you dislike them. The author didn’t have to be really nice in this message either, but being mean has its consequences too. I also did not agree that thanking someone for translating is bad and means we think they drew the story. That’s like saying “you can’t thank the cafeteria lady because the chicken was the one who mad the eggs and the cow made the meat”. Like I’m thankful for translators and authors because it’s hard work either way. And like others have said, authors can profit off of having English translations. It’s makes your work open to a whole new crowd of people! I mean even right now, there’s comments on here saying that people will go download apps and stuff to continue to read this story. I feel sorry that there are people who steal works of others and I agree that authors should feel upset but it’s not right to just bash on foreign fans either. This is just my opinion as an artist myself and how I am with my own beliefs.

I really don't understand this announcement, what she loses if people translate her work? She would not make to us on the original language anyway, so she isn't losing anything, is she? She could make some type of agreement with the "fan translators" and post with them, they are not receiving anything from doing that anyway, they do it because they are people that honestly enjoy the novel.
I feel like she was so stressed with everything that discounted at the first opportunity she had. I'm really disappointed, above all because she don't want us to thank the translators, they work is hard and valid too and are made out of appreciation to hers, how could she be so mean? If she don't like it its ok, but I see no necessity to be so mean. At least it was some average story, It would be a pity if it was something original or worth reading.

@privkz her story is available for free in the Korean apps, so she wasn’t profiting anything originally and still isn’t. All the translator did was translate her work in English and expose her to a wider range of fans. They didn’t claim the works to be theirs, they gave all the rightful credits to the creator and all they did was translate a free story to a different language. Maybe they should have reached out to the translation team and worked out something bc neither is profiting off of it. You would think the creator would want more exposure and have her work be popular enough for them to have a licensing contract and get a deal where she is finally able to profit from her work.

Actually, I can understand why the author feel that way. But in the times of internet where everything is connected, it is just a couple of taps away to share anything. I know how infuriating it is if someone use your work without permission. Someone stole my work and shamelessly use it for business without my permission. I'm lucky the problem solved with just a little bit of scolding.

But she can't put any fault in the scanlation teams because this work is not licenced yet. And it was the translation that bring new fans to her work.

EDIT: after I read the next chapter, it seems that she only want to first have her work in Naver got more popular because that is currently the only way to get licensed. So in a way, we have to convince Naver first that this work would be profitable before this even get licensed in Korean. In the end, it is still business after all, understandable but still...

The people in this comment section going on a bout exposure and how she could benefit from it are making me so angry. Yes, they have some good points but ultimately it's up to the author to decide if she wants her manhwa to be translated, exposure or not. The people in this comment section don't understand that this is her intellectual property. Not that I'm putting any of the blame on the scanlators tho, they seem really nice and respectful towards the author. Some groups could have just ignored the warnings but they went the extra mile to even translate it for the readers.

I like to think I'd be in the Good Place, but I read a lot of illegal translations. Even knowing it might bring me to the bad place, I keep reading because they are so good and I feel so guilty!
Since the author is writing this for free, I respect them even more and I'm sorry for reading it illegally. I hope author gives legal permission because this story is really great. Thanks for the story.
P.S. I actually started crying because of the father, since most novels start with awful parents.

We, the one who read this at mangadex, have no say on what the author should be doing since essentially we’re reading it free and illegally. If the author decides that she/he doesn’t approve of any illegal translation than it’s her/his right. Of course I’m sad that it won’t get translated to English but I respect the author’s decision. I just wish that it will get legally translated soon.

First off if it’s not internationally licensed it’s not illegal. Secondly if it’s not internationally licensed your not losing any money. Third once you release art or a product as it were you lose the final say.
