If previous chapter comments are to be believed, this story is essentially a "novel" as in that Ryoma guy is the protagonist and those girls are the
"heroines"..

So some higher force is apparently making them love him unconditionally, that's apparently also why the childhood friend reacts the way she does towards him

If the story intended to make that seem romantic, it fell flat 😐
damn. what a shit storm lol..

That's almost it.
Ryoma is the protagonist with plot-mandated harem powers. Shimutsuki is supposed to be the heroine, but her own powers caused her to gain agency. Her own agency caused her to reach out to the character who was supposed to be the hapless cuck and gave him a certain level of agency as well.

In a future arc, a character who believes herself capable of rewriting their reality shifts the plot-mandated harem power away from Ryoma to our actual ML, who is fully aware of what's happening and struggles as to whether he should keep these powers away from Ryoma who misused them or be rid of them and the troubles they bring to him and Shimutsuki.

Yeah i think I'm good. Never really vibe with drama by meta powers, I'm just gonna wrap up here and leave.

That sounds like a guide of how not to write a meta narrative

Incredibly, this overarching plot manages to be even dumber than the MC thinking he's in a galge. Thanks for the heads up o/

Look, regarding Mc... Yeah, he's very infuriating and he creates a lot of his own troubles, I would say everyone is pretty normal but him (girls fall for jerks all the time) but what he's doing for the little sister isn't bad here... You have to take damage sometimes to learn and to move on, if there's one character we'll written that has growth through the novel, it's probably her. (ironically, also fake Mc but much later)

Regarding the spoilers about the novel being meta... Yeah, everything is about how the "plot" makes everything happen and if the characters are under its influence or not

Ok... So the writer clearly has self esteem issues, or a very deep fear of conflict and it shows... And this Mc is actually pretty human, maybe too much for a romcom Manga, that's why he feels weird in everything he does, specially his introspection

What he did there with the sis there wasn't wrong, she needs to learn too.

the sister had Moved on already, she and the Fmc are best friends, etc... There comes this other girl and kinda restarts old feelings in the sis with some stuff she says, and the sister directly asks Mc "do you think I should try again with ryuzaki? I trust you so if you say I shouldn't, I won't" and the mc says maybe you should if that's what you want... Luckily a few days later she and ryuzaki meet and she herself snaps out of it and tells the guy not to get her confused anymore, and she gets her own closure (well... she kinda felt the hand of Mc internally stopping her from giving the guy a valentine chocolate, so in her mind it was her brother who stopped her from that mistake) that's why she's the only character with real growth in this... But Mc there could have stopped that shit and didn't, because at that point in the Web novel he was set in his mind that the other guy was the only one who could make those girls happy, etc... Pure cuck talk.
