I'm guessing her brother's head is a sort of conduct necessary for the magical communication device to function. Not sure if he was a willing part in that, though.

The fact that it's perfectly preserved after presumably years, and her talking about retrieving his body implies he might not be truly dead for good... either that or the pressure of her role got to her head and she's truly gone off the deep end.

I'm curious what the spell cast on the head is. Not the letters on the shroud, but the head itself has a spell etched on the forehead, and the neck is covered in talismans. Wonder if it's just anti-rot or if there's something more to it.

I ALMOST felt sympathetic for the pawn. ALMOST.

I find this whole situation funny in a morbid way... Jusui, is a pawn for some third party in HuangLia that wants to seize power, as she is being used by the present family in power to keep power... as HuangLia is at the brink of being no-man's-land with practically ALL the superpowers of the world making it their personal playground for shooty-shooty bang-bang and dick measuring contest... and all those involved seem to think they have everything under control... well, except Victorious, the guy is smart enough to know that he is personally fucked, to think he is in control of anything.

This country is downright fucked if something big doesn't happen... that something being Kai obviously, but at the same time... unless this it is an asspull to make this story entirely prolapse I have no idea how that will happen.

There is too much interest turned to this country, too much firepower... and Koenig showed that they are developing ways of countering the god-curse, and worse yet... those ways may be mass-producible.

This is at best as close as the Boxer and Opium Wars but altered since Dhala points out they are in no position to wage any war being spread thin and having logistical issues, Koenig is stockpiling weapons and I do not blame you if you think they are one and the same because they it seems they already decided on what they going to take from Huang Lia.


Its kinda like what happened after the Boxer Rebellion were China was cut but in this case, they seem to had wanted to come to agreement in case Huang Lia collapsed over what zones to control and all that but then Koenig said they are going to take what they want.

The question is if Huang Lia can hold against a single power, the series shows the problem is more of the succession were the various factions of Huang Lia go into a civil war for the throne and not ... well, the issues China faced in our reality, its possible that a Koenig invasion will have the opposite effect and unify then against the invaders if they get dumb enough because nobody else is going to help then in their invasion and likely will do the exact opposite.

I wont blame you for confusing Dhala with Koenig since I did it too, I guess when we see a Dark Elf we kinda assume they belong to the same faction.

Holy shit, he wrote/supervised Mai-HiME, Mai-Otome and Mai-Otome Zwei animes? I know he did the manga adapatons ... the far superior manga adapations, granted those were co-wrote with Tatsuhito Higuchi but damn ... Mai-Otome "story" can only be described as "what if we just throw all these stories outlines and picked then up from the floor for every episode", I can excuse him a bit for Code Geass because that ass is really gae and there were issues, expecially season 2 ... quite impressive ... eh, Fractable, how did he ended up roped into that one ...

I knew immediately that this had to be the Quaser guy before I looked at the author when I found this one. Its been awhile and I can't remember a lot about that one, but I remember not being a huge fan of the ending.
