necessary for the magical communication device to function
Oh that's such a good catch. I bet it uses her brother's voice too.
He has all those prime ovens and none are baking.
A pregnant woman/baby is a liability on a battlefield (and in war), and they have to be on the battlefield for him to use his powers. The only one I could see being pregnant on the battlefield are the Sinjar chief and the dwarf princess.

That, my dear fellow, is an author and mangaka diving deep into folklore and myth, making full use of the "seinen"tag... 😋

If you read your ancient creation myths, you'll find plenty cases where exactly this happens.. Egyptian, Assyrian/Mesopotamian, various flavours in Asia, and gods only know what the Hindus got up to.

All center around a single central theme.. Brother gets killed because [x], sister preserves head through magic, proceeds to resurrect the body, always including sex errmm.. "Love", then "reborn" brother ascends to Godhood and rules forever.
No doubt the author can point exactly at the specific instance of this in the wider chino-japanese mythology and folklore, citing chapter and verse to flummox accusions of Perversion and all that.

It's most certainly a thing the shinogami were accused of/employed for. So there's actual history behind it as well.

What country does Dhala take after again? And why is their force spreading thin?
If I'm not massively misreading the series, Dhala is mirrored by France e.g. the long time rival of Albion (Great Britain), Koenig is the newly united Germany which is the new power in colonial plays desperate to close the gap to the other colonial powers that have a long head start and being underestimated by France.
I'm not sure why their forces are spread thin besides the fact that they have failed in their last few ploys depicted in the series + they already have a large colonial empire that they have to keep under control while Koenig doesn't and can concentrate their forces better.
