I must admit that the plots involving Mermaid's Blood have been some of the most disturbing and nefarious in the whole series. I hope that Raiza can be saved, but I wonder if it's already too late for Milva's mind.

@Ptakers I am confused, what there is to not know? The plot isn't complicated, Dhala has infiltrated the school with drugs and plans to make the next generation of noble addicts... point. The only thing that we don't know yet is the why some people are involved... because the whos are really easy to guess.

Yeah I think this arc is trying our patience a bit. I feel like this arc might have been better paced had the reveal to the prince been outside of the arc rather than in the middle of it.

The queen should just order the whole school locked up, nobody entering or leaving, and perform a thorough search of every nook and cranny by qualified officers and trained dogs. They are at war presently, so it should be easy to use that much authority even if the place is full of noble children.

The MC, honestly, doesn't seem to be doing anything to solve the case. His speech was splendid, though.

I don't think it would be that easy. As Prince Luca says, the Queen has made many enemies among the nobility. I fear there would be a lot of resistance against such a drastic (and very public) measure from the students' parents, especially if they're aware of or suspect that their kids might be involved in pretty serious crimes. Since that Katz Valor is waiting for the right moment to call the queen's legitimacy into question, I'd agree that discreation is more important now.

This manga has A LOT OF TIDDY, but I gotta say, Kai as the protagonist has got some balls and fibbing for days, and occasionally it has some pretty neat writing. The speech to the prince is a great example.

The shit going on in the depths of the academy is legitimately insidious and disturbing this arc, especially as seen through what's happening to Milva and Raiza. Holding out some hope for them, but a lot of the students already look *way* too far gone.

@Misticsan A good opportunity to connect that Katz Valor to the case and get rid of him for good. After all, they would find a whole lot by searching the school, and thus anyone against the search would automatically be suspicious. Though that being said, if the prince got connected as well, it would backfire quite badly for the queen. Maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea, after all. The MC just needs to stop sitting on his hands and do something (although of course he was a bit busy elsewhere for a little while).

The author has really learned from Seikon no Qwaser. Qwaser had many useless smutty ecchi scenes that only served for shock values. Here everything feels organic, you don't feel like any of the elements present in the story were put there as an extra. Everything has a purpose.
