This. Having her and Grey's granny swap places is way too complicated, but having them be the same person all along is not only simple, but also better plot-wise.

It will also explains Gil's answer to her question. While her actual grandson is already dead, Kai is still a great guy that lives up to Grey's reputation and accomplishments, and she should know that by now. And like the other has said, most of Albion's recent achievements is due to him anyway.
Yeah, I don't know if I'm totally in the "the maid is the grandma" camp (though I am more now since they bothered to hide her face) but for being the mother of such a heroic figure, I expect she'll understand the importance of continuing the charade, from all the good that's come of it.

I am starting to think the old maid that serves Luca is Grey's granny, the way Gil phrased his words after her question seemed too... specific.

I don't really read this for surprises, I read this for the surprisingly well-constructed plot and the VERY expectedly constructed PLOT, and sometimes this one does surprise me, but I think Satou-sensei and Yoshino-sensei still fall to an old habit they have... they tend to be long-winded with some of their situations, it can be frustration in a monthly series, but with all else they give... I can let it go.

And if the knife-eared bitch gets legendarily screwed after this, I am satisfied.

Dumb bitch is definitely working with the enemies if she wants to weaken national power that much.
I don't even think she is working for Dhala, she really is just a power-hungry bitch wrestling for power.

And we know she is the daughter-in-law of a very powerful rival of the queen.

This and the sinchar arc are really tanking this manga, imo.
I disagree.

BUT... I completely understand your point, and so let me say something... the authors of this manga have always had one very problematic habit... they really stretch things, and this really brought the end of their last series to a kinda of sour end, not bad just sour.

I would say that they tend to use around half the page count of a chapter in an unnecessary way, it wouldn't hurt much most of the time, but... this series is monthly and they do that a few too many times.

I kind of already expected this, I was surprised that until the academy arc, they seemed to have dealt with that habit, but personally... I can deal with it.

If you don't mind me giving you some advice... you could forget about this one for a time, take it out of your favorites maybe, and with some luck you would get back when a buffer was made, or you can just dial your brain off just a little, I use this last one, helps me to ignore the more glaring pacing issues and take pleasure in the plot and PLOT.

But sincerely, if you stay too hung up on what you want and not on what this story gives you, your fun on this one will be really low, and reading something like that is painful, I guarantee you... It has happened to me.

Even if she wasn't. The Prosecutor Bitch assumes she would be on her side but considering that family brought out someone like Grey I say she might be someone able to see the bigger picture. Also probably not a Knife Ear supremist like the Prosecutor :p
If that Person in the end even is her and not a certain "surprise" survivor.
She is so high on her little crusade that she doesn't even stop to think... what kind of man was Grey Enfield and what this would mean about his family.

But for all I know, when she discovered he was a half-elf she tuned out any other info and just focused on what she wanted, i mean... if we are right about the maid being his granny... how the hell didn't she check-up for who she worked?

Normally discovering who works for a royal isn't difficult if you are already in the know, bet Luca must have planted the info and she was so stoned that she didn't even think of checking.

'Politics', period.

For all we know the old maid really IS Gray's grandma and was already if not one of first few that were informed about Gray's passing.
Wait...when was it revealed the old maid is Gray's grandma? I thought it simply a veteran maid who seen many bullshits when she served her master.

There's a glaring plothole here. The fact that nobody notice Doronea has been missing for several days.
nobody as in who? the assasins and his wife already went to secure doronea, evidently from this chapter early pages and last chapter where we see someone been spying on that senator lady when she capture doronea. and the other princess (forgot the name) would have been notified already. both the assasins and his wife also driving carriage... so who could be in that carriage hmm?

if you read slowly you would have noticed this.

Not explicit said, just guessing.
But, I say, it wouldn't be weird for the royal family to contact and inform the Countess Einfield of her grandson's passing, then directly hire her as a sort of headmaid to keep her close at hand.

And in some otome series some old retired Countess/Duchess are also hired by the crown to teach and train the the young noble ladies of manners and such when sent to the royal palace.

Even in a chapter consisting only of the political drama the author still didn't forget to add a proper PLOT, and at a very first page at that.

This must be the Justice Studies major in me because I'm absolutely in love with this verbal chess match thats going on. Most specifically, I love how the judge is written to have such an inquisitive interest in how this goes down so he helps push the fold and corner our hero even further with zero malice. Wish the next upload wouldn't be another month-ish out

If this arc doesn't end with the prosecutor evil women being killed for treason and declared to be working against the country for the enemy then it was a waste of time... She hasn't existed till now and comes in having never done ANYTHING of value and tries to overthrow the government?

How many bets she gets "legendarily screwed" by the things she keeps in her own basement? lol, that's something I wanna see

I am praying for exactly that.

You don't see a villain with that type of menagerie and don't see the possibilities.
