Wow, it's not every day I get legit surprised by a twist and on top of that for it to make perfect sense. This cheating saga was not only pure entertainment but definite quality!
It makes it so realistic that Rio didn't get any redemption but showed not even a bit of introspection about what she did. People don't exactly go through satisfying and positive character arcs irl, they just stay the same or like here, get worse! So convinced they can do no wrong.
Or even coming to the wrong conclusions. Ofc, a narcissist like Rio would be touched to be the target of a full-on yandere psycho, she has right at home the drama she seems to crave now.
This is one more reason why you don't forgive cheaters. Even seeing Itsuki through the most charitable lens or for people not going to his lengths, once trust is broken it will never be steady again. Some even go as far as making their partner's life miserable and the cheater might go along with it, convinced they deserve the abuse, resolved to never win an argument again because if this one perfect dunk, doomed to have 'no right' again to ever voice their concerns or their own feelings of jealousy.
The whole bond is ruined. Frankly, it even leaves a sour taste if all is truly forgiven and forgotten, makes all professions of pure love worthless and hollow.
So this is a happy ending indeed, for readers hating this dirtbag. She gets everything she wants and thankfully she has shit taste. 🙏
So excited for the four chapters of important lore 👀👀👀
