I got bored of the manga at around ch 65 because Senku runs into zero challenges outside of slight road bumps. The anime is meh outside of the soundtrack.

Nah, there's definitely stakes, it's just that
like most Weekly Shonen Jump series, we always know MC will friendship his way to victory. Except in this series, MC sciences his way to victory.
...Wait, did I just contradict myself? Do no WSJ series have actual stakes???

I feel like Senku is just bleh. Not flawed enough and he needs to encounter major setbacks.
