the series could've been over shortly after shibuya if this guy had just beaten the enemies there and not gotten sealed. megumi could've married his sister and all would be well.

i read a comment that gojo's determination to not directly cause bystander deaths through his powers was due to his insecurity/mindfulness about being the strongest. also the same reason he hadn't killed the jujutsu society elders (the ones behind the screens) his whole life. he wanted to prove to himself that he was still human and wouldn't take everything he wanted through force. ironically though, it ended up costing way more lives than just the people in that underground train station, and it even cost him his own life.

with that being said, it's probable that gege didn't think this deeply about it when writing gojo's actions. if i ever see him in my local mcdonald's, it's still on sight
