• Security breaches: We have been the target of malicious attacks that compromised the integrity of our systems and raised serious concerns about the security of user data.
• Legal pressures: The landscape surrounding online manga distribution is complex and fraught with legal challenges. We have faced increasing pressure that has made it difficult to operate sustainably.
• Infrastructure costs: Maintaining a platform of MangaDex's size requires significant financial resources. The costs associated with server maintenance, bandwidth, and ongoing development have become increasingly unsustainable.
• Team limitations: MangaDex has been largely run by a dedicated team of volunteers. The immense pressure of dealing with the aforementioned challenges, coupled with the personal demands on our team members, has taken a significant toll.

After careful consideration of all these factors, we have come to the difficult conclusion that we are unable to continue operating MangaDex in its current form.

We recognize the impact this decision will have on the community, and we want to express our deepest gratitude for your support over the years. We are immensely thankful for the scanlation groups who dedicated their time and effort to providing content, and for the readers who made MangaDex a vibrant and thriving community.
