Okay, this is being forced way too badly.

The MC could easily have explained things to the hero but doesn't....

And this allows needless conflict for absolutely NO REASON and causing him trouble for NO REASON....
The problem is, would that Hero guy had listened and believed what MC had said to him?
He saw how the people of the other Kingdom fought during the War, but all her cared about was protecting his own place and being a superficial Hero who is also a racist (I mean he immediately believed whatever stuff that Princess said to him without checking the facts, and he was supposed to be a Gamer & Fiction Otaku as well, so he should be used to plots similar to that).

Not sure I'm a fan of the author ignoring all the abhorrent shit the hero's seen his country do by having him just sidetrack halfway through the thought and ignore it

The author is definitely not intending for the hero to be the bad guy by the way he writes him, but he's so stupid that it doesn't matter what the intention is - naivety doesn't excuse war crimes that're this obvious

Nah, some people don't listen to words. You have to show them they are in the wrong.
Now if he goes back wagging his tail to the princess after all this, then he is beyond saving.

Something tells me while the King wants to conquer everything, the princess instead wants everything to burn.

Assuming the hero isn’t so naive as to just swallow the racist lies whole…but HE DID, so doubt MC could convince the dumbass hero.

He wouldn't have believed it anyways, because he's not from the game.

Did you think that Hero even will listening what the MC say?

Even if the Hero listening to the MC, will the Hero even believe it?

Let's say the Hero believes it, do you think the Human Kingdom will not manipulate and twist the logic to make the Hero believe them back?
