Something's genuinely wrong with your translator. What kind of person refuses to actually translate properly? Why do a half job? It's ridiculous.

And white knights can fuck off.

@doomskull I don't see any problems with the translation. How about you actually say what you don't like instead of just acting like an asshole?

The whole point of the manga is to listen to the sultry "shounen" in your head. Why do you people wanna read a lame-ass boring "boy" instead?
>B-But it's supposed to be a translation! Go read the raw then you weeaboo!
And sometimes liberties are taken so as to maximize the effect of the thing translated. It's like translating an "ara, ara" to "My, my". It just doesn't work.

"shounen" is fine, just like how "onee-san" is fine too. (do you want the boy to call Saori "big sister"?)

For me, "boy" has a more disparaging tone. On the other hand, Saori has been nothing but affectionate (if only a bit teasing) the whole time.

No it's not, the whole dialogue and conversation not to mention the progress of their relationships are depicted by how they called each other of which in japanesse have a different level of intimacy depends on the pronouns being used.

It's a whole different culture in western where you can just call an elderly or even your step father with just 'TOM'.

Vote for "Shounen" here. Calling someone "boy" as a replacement for their name has a negative/insulting tone to it in English. I suppose you could use "young man" which kinda works, but that makes her sound like a grandma or maybe someone more straight laced and proper like a teacher type.
