This guy is selling all his stuff for dirt-cheap if he's setting his bar at our world's current day market prices, post-industrial revolution in our age of automation. But as to whether that's a smart move or not...He's practically giving it away or selling at a loss by their world's standard. At least he's selling better than his competition in other stores. Perhaps his Walmart-like route could work; sell dirt-cheap en mass, use a loss-leader pricing strategy, and ultimately destroying other small independent businesses in his area. And I doubt their world has antitrust laws that can stop him.
I wouldn't be surprised if his customers become scalpers, buying to resell for a profit at that world's current market price. And in the long-run, he could potentially crash the economy when there's more supply than there is demand, with his ability to make an overabundance of products. But since there's currently a food shortage, I guess it evens out...for now.
Maybe I'm wrong, who knows. It could work out just fine even with his blunder of not checking that world's current prices, especially since his business expenses is virtually zero, excluding his capital investment and man-hours labor. It'd be pretty hard to fail with his ability, aside from getting caught by the kingdom or being swindled out of making more money than he could have with each transaction.
And wow, they really spent no effort on those bandits design. They look like a circus clown-troupe or a heavy metal band....wait...is that a visual pun?

1.- The country is currently in a rather severe crisis/shortage; while it's certainly true that his method will tank the economy in the long run, him selling essentials (such as food and clothing) at such low prices will allow the common people to get out of the crisis much quicker and help them focus their resources into other things that are also in dire need of manpower.
A very good point. With food and clothing covered (2/3 major essentials every person needs, with shelter being the last), the townspeople, or at least those that bought from him, now have more breathing room and can put their man-hours and limited finances toward other needs and wants. If the prices for essential items are all rising everywhere, then it'll likely cause an economic recession when no one is spending as much money as they used to.
