@Sep10trion Probably, but he could go with the new trend of "nice" loan sharks who can instinctively sense how obscene the MC's money making ability is. He'll probably end up persuading the MC to get ANOTHER slave instead.

Well, he can certainly afford to take on the debt now. Even if the loan shark pulls some bullshit to try to hook him.
The main question is what type of loan shark this is.

Maine looked adorable happily slaughtering those bears. I sure they they harvested the parts while they were at it.

Besides that though, was I the only one impressed by the action this chapter? I don't know much about this stuff, but I got a good sense of the motion and the blows all felt satisfying to look at.

maybe an executioner sword or zweihander would be more appropriate for her than a normal sword. she'd cleave thru everything like tofu

This is so bad... why even bother selliing stuff when you can grow money? It's a pointless plot, MC should grow some armor so the incoming axe doesn't hurt so much

urg...I had so high hopes for this story...Why did he come back to the capital in first place? Okay, he didn't go with my plan and fake his death, but comeon! He returns from his trips??? I do understand the first time. That was a trial run to see a part of the world. Okay. But every time? This invites tragedy. I'm at the point to say, that he deserves to be enslaved by that kingdom. It's better for him. With this kind of naive mindset he would be killed off soon enough anyways, when he isn't under the kings protection.

Why doesn't he create a secret field in proximity to his farm, but just far away enough, so that random visitors from the castle don't find it. Somewhere in a safe part of the woods, some place nobody bothers to visit. Plant there all his valuable shit and keep farming fruits and vegetables in the slow way, by planting plants instead of fruits, on his "main" farm. This would hopefully fool everyone for 1 week or so. Plant gold coins, but also a few copper and silver coins and buy and plant some (small!) gems. And plant some low weight commodities, like those cloths, not as money source, but so that he has some coverup commodities when he does flee. Then run. Oh, and take that girl. The only thing he did right so far.

I don't believe he needs this field anyways. As everything grows over night any fertile place should be sufficient. Just camping somewhere for a night is enough. Maybe he can even grow everything in his cart. "Hey girl. Never enter the cart!"

It's not that the king doesn't know how to use her, it's that the king can't afford to use her. I can understand if she breaks steel weapons, but mithril is supposed to be as strong as a dragon's scale. If she breaks that regularly, the whole kingdom would go bankrupt trying to supply her. It's like supplying a master archer, except each arrow costs 10kg of gold and he shoots 10,000 of them.

The only reason this guy can afford to supply her is because he can grow mithril. Then again, where did this mithril come from? Soon the whole world will be filled with mithril and nothing else. I hope the author put some sense into his work. Even making the mithril disappear after a week is a passable tradeoff to this extremely OP skill.

Even Shirou Emiya doesn't get permanent swords.

I'm more concerned with the number of bears. (spoilered just incase someone hasn't read the chapter yet)
5 show up at the start, she kills 1 so now there is 7 left.
She kills another 3, her sword breaks! Oh no! No big deal, draws another sword and she kills another bear. Only 3 left now!
She leaps forwards and kills the last 3.. plus another 10?
Finally she races back, gets more ammo swords and kills another 2.
Final kill count: 20. I guess bears (that you'd need a cannon to kill) in this world are pack animals or something.

I also wonder if she's ever tried throwing things. Unless her monstrous strength only kicks in for melee, she'd do a ton of damage just throwing rocks.

I'm not sure how I feel about this manga, on one side, the MC seems like a nice guy, and it's certainly a original concept, but on the other sid, it's essentially a story about somone running a counterfeitting racquet, selling fake goods for profit, whilst those who worked on the original are not seeing any of that profit. There is also the issue of his fakes being as good as the original, and significantly cheaper, likely hurting the other businesses that are not going to be able to compete against someone who can just grow these items on trees for free.

lol shouldn't her growth be in the direction of not breaking the weapon? is he recovering the pieces of mithril? his cheat of duplicating items seems the most broken cheat that I have seen...

Imo with strength like that and the fact that she breaks stuff so easily, she'd be better off equipped with throwing axes or javelins

Thanks for the chapter!
Hope he kept a few mithril swords hidden back home in reserve in case he needs to grow more for her. Great that she's got her confidence back. Wonder how long he's going to be able to hide his ability from the kingdom and if remembering to grow enough 'crops' so not considered useless without overdoing it and becoming a useful tool to put under strict supervision and management. Although he's going to need to do something with the swords she breaks as would be expensive to keep getting them repaired, and even just dumping them would attract attention at some point considering mithril is a very rare and powerful metal. Then again, wouldn't be the first time an author glossed over an issue can't avoid in reality.

"selling fake goods" you should choose your words with more attention
because they are real goods, not fake as you say
and there is nothing unfair,
when there has been the mechanization of agricultural production
and production chains, ... in our world it is happening the same thing, many people have lost their job in all sectors concerned by modernization
and their manual work has become too expensive.
What it does could allow a whole country to live without working
the people could be educated, then do research and improve agricultural techniques and the day he dies they will have a life a little less hard
he is the factory and the fuel oil, the only thing that is lacking is the staff to transport the resources to the inhabitants of the country for almost free and to sell to neighboring countries
well used it could give a better life to the whole world, like fossil fuels without pollution

@Aichan
"It's not that the king doesn't know how to use her, it's that the king can't afford to use her."
nobody said the opposite, it's even written almost word for word in the text
it is true that the word "wisdom" is a bit exaggerated, but we must not understand it by "use only mithril swords" but just to provide weapons,
to repair a weapon is still less expensive in time and resources than to redo a new
And the cost of an army as useful as she is
is far superior to her and transport staff for food + maintenance
and I'm not even talking about the long-term expense of a standing army (who costs even when not in use), its training, its equipment, the regular maintenance, food..

for the rest I understand, but we should not ask too much of "world building" to an author of "soft magic" type

@BOTMAN it's businessman mindset, it's not about how to earn as fast as possible money in large amount, it's about how to sell your produce, there many people take pleasure on this. The same is you ask extremely rich people like bill gate, jeff bezos, etc, why they still work when they already had enough fortune for many generation without work ? because for some people in business they take pleasure for how good product they produce and how they sell, it's not always about getting quick buck.

@Aichan yeah I was nearly offended by him thinking he was smarter than people for doing this

@Gauvain She's splintering metal, and if it's not mithril is breaks in pretty much one hit. You can't supply that at all. Swords aren't like 10 bucks a pop, supplying this girl is impossible without cheat skills like the MC has. And if you really want to be 'wise' he should've taught her how to fight without breaking her weapons in the first place. She also would cost way more than an army in terms of equipment. If we assume she had normal swords that could do as much damage as these mithril ones (because mithril is too rare to actually have enough to supply her) She would've went through a goo 20 swords just in that encounter alone with the bears. The problem here isn't world building, it's just the author being straight up half assed when thinking things out.

Why not dual wield swords to split the strength on each one to avoid breakage.
