But somewhere, out there, exist at least one isekai manga where MC is as bad as what you explained and still got himself a harem. It's simply author issue.

A lowkey depressed and/or lonely but often highkey edgy MC being able to build a harem, usually consisting of slaves, is author issue, yes, agreed

Hope he's able to overcome his depression, 'cuz the lack of communication does grate, but idk I think the author's doing a pretty decent job of writing his mental state

Honestly my only real complaint is that the art isn't my cup of tea

Severe introversion could also be a factor. When a strong introvert is forced to socialise (especially with people they dislike) for a very long time they can overreact by cutting off the outside world, but that in turn rebounds into needing to make connections again, but they tend to overdo it, making a nasty feedback cycle. The best way out, is to build a small social circle and limit contact, which conveniently, is exactly what is happening to him now, and should help him stabilise again should that be the case, though that noble and the constant life threatening attacks is probably not helping.

Its just refreshing that he isn't OP, guy is hiring adventurers to get the big bad monsters that in other stories the MC would flick away. His depression though, its interesting because its like a hanging thread, how will he resolve it or not..
