I.....think this was the correct way for Wakaba to handle Komaki. Komaki obviously loves her, but has twisted that love into "hate", borne of possessiveness and jealousy and anxiety over being left (at least how I interpret it all).
So Wakaba fully facing her and forcing Komaki to this point seems like the only way to break that pattern and bring the truth to the surface. And it's not like Wakaba doesn't want Komaki, either - she had her own twisted perception of all of this, caught up in Komaki's perfection and her own "inferiority".
Once Wakaba could be honest with herself, I think it was only a matter of time for them both. So props to our heroine for finding that center and sticking to her guns, here.
