One chapter of the ji-ho flashback and we see where her rizz comes from. She was the tall athletic girl, surrounded by admirers and hangers-on and simps. But she had an unrequited crush on a straight best friend, hence where her awkwardness comes from. And her knee injury happened because she was texting-while-walking with her best friend/crush, that's gotta leave an emotional scar. Did she learn to be cautious with her feelings because of truck-kun?
Wait, why are they wearing hospital gown/scrubs when they are having their sprint competition?
Sports festival class theme? Or possibly someone in their class spent time in the hospital and they did it to show support?

But even then. They have "hospital" literally written on them, upside down?

Maybe it's a weird Korean thing ... ooooor ... the artist didn't realize what the texture they used said ^^;

So because she never wins that medal she never told her friend her wish? It just feels like the way she is she probably dropped the whole thing and grew distant once in hospital.

At least I'm hoping it's something like that, and not the case that her friend actually turns on her, or lost interest in her once she couldn't run.

I understand that we wanted to see a flashback of Jiho, even I wanted that, but why show us something from the past that has no relation to the current plot and the previous chapter? and in the best moment, I understand showing her accident, and this friend she was in love with, but what does that have to do with right now? And why do you remember it precisely now? I hope this is related to the present. And maybe this girl is heterosexual, and it is more logical that she remembers it right at this moment that she had an argument, with her also "straight" friend. Otherwise, it would not contribute much to the plot at the moment (for now) it would break the flow of the story, as we abruptly move on to something else, trusted the gaji team, so surely this is connected, although I did slightly see her friend interest in her, we'll see.

I wonder what's the ratio of present to flashback chapters. It surely must be above 1/3 at this point, really breaks the flow of the story.
I agree, I want to believe that this is connected to Woohui and her current present, it was because maybe this friend was heterosexual and didn't have a chance with her, and she is remembering it because of her argument with Woohui, if not, I think it's not right now. Would something make sense that would contribute nothing to the current plot and its pace, perhaps in the future? maybe? And not now? We'll see. What I did notice in her friend was that I saw a slight interest in Jiho, maybe she's just kind and that's all.

“There’s no way she’d feel the same way. She’s…”
a) Straight/Dating a guy from a different school
b) Getting transferred/leaving to study abroad
b) Dying (jk)

I am SO curious about what the next line would be. I wonder what happened to Haeun, I’d love for her character to return to the present story. Second chance romance is pretty rare but of course Team Gaji will always stick to the boring predictable route (Woohui).

One thing I’ll never understand about Team Gaji is why they flesh out every single character more than the endgame love interest. There are still many chapters left but my hopes are low.

I don't think Woohui's character is boring, that the gaji team makes a mess of developing his love interest at the end of the game, it's different, the same thing happened with Sungji, he completely left his character aside, and many times. It seemed superfluous, since all the development and depth of the story had been directed towards Sumin and Seju's relationship, I think Woohui as a character has potential, the gaji team could address many themes in it, self-discovery, raising standards, regaining trust, etc., a process that would be interesting to watch, but it would be more cliché and boring if Jiho stayed with her first high school love (always happens in most GLs) Yeonwoo, well, so far it goes the same formula as Seju, dysfunctional family, tragic past life, Team Gaji is like that, it gives development to all its characters, except for the protagonist's love interest. It applies here, we can't judge a book by its cover, if it weren't for its cover we wouldn't even be talking about this to begin with, whether they should be the endgame or not. It all depends on the author, let's hope it's different here no matter how doubtful it may be. But in every GL you read there will always be a main couple, but the gaji team gives little importance to the main couples in their stories, and the background they give them is almost none.

any character that would have been with Jiho on the cover, we would be saying exactly the same thing, they are going the cliché and boring route simply because any character is there with her, or there should be no covers with a couple (that way we wouldn't even know which one will be the end of the game) or simply that the author executes it in a different way (yes, the plot and events) realistic, believable and as least cliché as possible. And yes, I hope that Team Gaji handles this differently, not by having favoritism towards Woohui, but by executing the character or in this case the romantic interest, giving it good development and depth, total, already presented as the counterpart . of the story (to make it better understood, they did it with the cover) I hope I was able to explain myself well.

They are comics, and it is normal that they have their clichés, they are stories for us readers to enjoy reading, even when many stories are far from reality. They are young girls, there will be dramas, conflicts, etc.. and yes, their dose of cliché (happy ending, everything being rosy) But well, as I said, it is the author's discretion how he will end up executing everything.

It surely has to do with her current situation.

I assume it's related either because Woo-Hui telling her pink was just using her cos she's easy to manipulate reminded her of OG best friend (who maybe distances once Ji-ho can't run anymore and loses popularity) or Woo-Hui acting jealous reminded her of OG best friend (another straight girl who gave her mixed signals)

And we see present Jiho walking to the hospital in the start of the chapter, probably going for rehab for her leg. The author wants to show how the accident happened + her past so the readers get to know more about the character.

I think I might drop this and come back in a few months. It’s been 80% flashbacks, 20% storyline and it seems the author is postponing the chapters every other week. Too much confusion for me.

Thank you translators for all your hard work.
