oof, this ending reeks of having to end the story early
delivery was very stiff, like a gag ending.
but atleast they wrapped it up?
( atleast we got a funny comic in the epilogue and an ending at all )

If this didn't need to act as advertisement for the novel, it would have been the perfect opportunity to have a non-Hollywood ending by making Rex die, sacrifice himself to save Rose and the whole town, by preventing the birth of a demon lord. This last chapter would then have presented his apprentices sad but continuing their adventures, being immensely inspired by Rex, not wanting to let everything he taught them go to waste.

This manga adaptation was one of the many made to get people interested in the serie and then switch to the novel.
It sadly happens fairly often, is clear this story have a ton of stuff to say so it hits harder.
It did its work perfectly though.
