Both brothers are different flavors of twat. The father is the only one with any wisdom or foresight. So the brother really is just a twat![]()
Some people just can't abide being a parasitic existence in a relationship of mutual affection. It turns what should be something wonderful, toxic. That doesn't mean he has a nothing to bring to this relationship, he just doesn't see it because of his low self-esteem.At some point, it crosses into being rude when you put your partner on such a pedestal you ignore their feelings about you.
Bro already acknowledged she loved him last part, so he should stop thinking about worthiness and focus more on repaying her love in kind.
have you ever even seen a real criminal, bro?A lot of stories don’t take into account “Honor among thieves.” Even for the impoverished (or just greedy) who are so desperate for resources that they’d steal from old women in broad daylight, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who would deliver a solid kick to a child for convenience’s sake, especially being so cruel as to call the child “filthy” while doing so. Unless it turns out this thief has some unique circumstances, this feels out of place; as in, the thief stealing from the grandma (and in broad daylight, while kicking a child) exists solely for the plot, but doesn’t make sense for an in-world character to do otherwise.
You think a dirtbag being a dirtbag is out of place? There is no honor among thieves, that’s a white fantastical invention. Dirtbags act like dirtbag, you don’t leave a grandma destitute and then go “oh wait, I better be nice to her sweet grandchild”.
