I like Fujita lampshading the 'people getting cut off right before they mention very important things' cliche that happens a lot in manga and anime. You tell 'em, Ginbei and Hyoudo.

And the ship's figurehead being able to move and fight is something I did not see coming, even though it should've been really obvious in hindsight.

The Frazetta huh. I thought some of the art looked like it could be from an issue of Heavy Metal.

And fuck the magazine, that ship is metal as fuck.

Hah, not a minute went by after posting this about Heavy Metal that Pink Floyd's "Have a Cigar" started playing on random. Famous featured in the Heavy Metal movie. I want to say it was during the stoner alien section.
