This is pretty much the final nail in the coffin for Mangadex, It was already struggling before given that it has a "Support Mangadex" ad and unless they somehow manage to bring back the chapters, It's only matter of time before Mangadex resorts to using pop ads as a main source of income and ultimately end up shutting down due to not being able to pay for the site to stay up.

Lots of good sites ending up resorting to extraneous ads and ultimately shutting down, most of them are Anime sites.
Mangadex site visits decreased by 17% compared to last month, that is a big loss for such a big site.

At least we seen that its possible and works. But when most readers are young teenagers there is only so much we can do.
To be honest I'm surprised it worked at all lol, didn't think there would be enough extra sales for the publishers to care

The only question right now is if it will be possible to export the reading list
Thinking about it, since according to the faq Mangadex changed management to NamiComi, we don't even have any guarantee such update is coming, maybe time to manually write down all your series just in case

I tried some old greasemonkey script, but no luck.
It's not too bad to manually copy everything, especially if for example, you have all series in Reading, as you copy their names you dumb them in Dropped, just need some patience lol
But isn't that to export them somewhere else? I imagine MAL won't have everything listed, especially for small stuff like pixiv, twitter and so on.

At least I prefer having them in like a spreadsheet or something that I can actually use myself instead of exporting to somewhere else and being at their mercy lol

This guy on reddit made a script that creates a csv file which you can open in excel:

If it's the same I tried before then this is what I got in excel
Idk what your settings are, but it looks like it opened all the lines into the same column, kind of like if you were to open the file in a text editor. It should split each category into it's own column, so that that A is ID, B is Type, C is Status, etc.

there was no settings, just run the executable, maybe I used early version that was only to export into other sites or something, guess I should try it again

F**k. Do the publishers understand this doesn't help or profit anyone except maybe less reputable aggregator sites? Because I know where I will be reading any of my series that got taken down and is not on their services or by buying their books, it is on the aggregator website that I first used to read manga before switching to Batoto and then Mangadex.

Now if they actually offered me a superior or nearly the same experience as Mangadex? I might be willing to shelve a few bucks a month for that. In truth I had done so in the past.
You see I live in a rather small European country known as Croatia. Back at the start of the century the local major publisher/bookstore chain begun releasing something that even online sites could not get me, a local translation of Negima! as well as a few other manga.
And I brought said local translation of Negima because it not only allowed me to read it in my own damn language but also came with background and lore entries that didn't exist online. But then the local publisher begun to go under and it all ended with the only volume that I didn't manage to get, 19, because of their local shops closing doors. I literally paid 4/5 Euros for each of the previous 18 volumes (so about 85 to 90 Euros or around 130 Dollars in total given the exchange rate back then) of the local translation and if the publishing had countiued in any way I would have probably bought the whole work.

But it didn't continue publishing, so I finished reading series on an advertisement filled aggregator site. Of course it is not the Japanese publisher's fault the local publisher went down, but this is a example from my own life that adds to what everyone has been saying, give us superior service at a fair price and many of us will go for it. But with the lack of ether we turn to sites like Mangadex. And if they go after reputable or user friendlier places like it? We turn to places that directly profit from fan translations because that becomes, for a lot of us, our only option.

Rather than the executable, it's a setting of your excel. It's not identifying commas as a list separator so when it imports it puts everything together. Look up how to change list separator or delimiter for your excel version and change it to a comma, then try opening the csv in excel again.

Nope, it was the executable, tried latest version now, took a while lol, when I used it there was no options or anything, now the executable asks how you want to import it

When I used it it was version 1.0.1, current one is 1.2.0 lol

Does anybody have any actual provable connection between Kakao and any Japanese manga publisher, or is this just something somebody said offhand and everyone is going along with it because they want to to be true that the perfidious Koreans have tainted the honorable and famously piracy friendly Japanese?
It's something Kakao has been saying since last year at least.

Love Bullet?
The scanlators and readers of The Buggle Call (awesome fantasy manga that is doing VERY BADLY in japan because the japanese don't like anything that isn't generic hero's party garbage) were trying to do something similar to what happened with Love Bullet but the manga got taken down right after.

Whelp, it's probably getting axed now. It's a shame because imo it would have done at least decently well on the west. It is getting licensed, but it's probably going to be too late by then to keep it alive because its japanese sales are just catastrophically bad. I'm honestly surprised it has survived this long. Some higher up at the publisher must be a fan.
