Been waiting for the Frankenstein parallels in the main story, we finally got it. Just as the monster was rejected by his creator, Shima became rejected by his mom. They each felt their creations too monstrous to deserve love. But while in Frankenstein the Monster goes on a murder/revenge quest, Shima just punished himself.

Great chapter, happy to hear the backstory to his "scandal" in such a complete and straightforward way. It wasn't really any crazier than we assumed, which I think is good, just nice confirmation of how it played out. In the end, it's really not that bad, but it also makes perfect sense that his mom would flip out and that he'd feel guilty. Now, at last, the healing can really begin...
