Oh, no. The terrible "machines don't work in dungeons" line. Maybe it is explained in the novel, but dropped like this sounds so stupid. Yeah, phisics are bent by magic, but there has to be some underlying principle still valid, or I call bullshit. Electricity can't happen without magic? Yeah, fine. But how do neurons work then?
When you magic does whatever however, the plot built around it turns weak, at least to me.

If he can join a mining team in a guild as an E-Rank, what the hell has he been doing until now in those crappy E-D rank team hunts? like... join the guild mining team and no worries about fighting, have a good solid wage to pay your mother's medical bill ... unless what he got in those crappy D-E rank dungeons was worth so much more ???

Was that all purely a set up for him to get the leveling system ... seems pretty weak reason if its just to set the plot and not logical within the created world...

@Solaz magic powered flashlight? The thing that they mined as well as some mana crystal thingy that you could find on monster's body was actually a new type of power source,...

And it was also explained that even the pickaxe has magic=stronger than normal. Maybe the thing they mined was tougher than steel or something that normal means of mining it was ineffective...

Could someone tell me what chapter of the novel is this? I know it's around 60-70-ish since 80 starts at him already knowing the price of the auction

His past level was still below the bar for dedicated mining team. (You’ll probably see the other miners take on his level on the next chapter) he is in this mining team as a last minute stand-in
Dedicated mining team exist for high level gate where there is a need to split the team.
Low level gate means the hunter is the miner (remember his past mission with the backstabbers)
