@Christopher
That is LN's knowledge, I assume.
I stand by what I said. It is a flaw if there is no explanation to it here. "Go read this if you want to understand" is not something I accept. Unless it is a continuation. Otherwise, the work is missing parts thus, flawed.

@MarceloYuri no we can actualy see the name of the quest when he finished and we see the skill maxed.. the mc just don't speak about it .. You should watch the windows of the mc more attentively

@Wind_Blade
So... I am not talking about that. Just to be clear. I don't want to have to copy the comment back here, but I meant the hidden effect, not the obviously written. If text interpretation is an issue, I can go into further detail later. But I am off to bed now.

@AstroCoke The problem with the Gamer is that they use the gamer system has an excuse when they want it. In one chapter, it's ridiculously OP, in the next, it's next to useless. I was really interested in it but as more and more inconsistencies appeared, I started to read with only one eye.

Two good example: level: at the start, level is the equivalent of power level of the people (except for the "Gamer"); but eventually they can increase their stats without increasing level, with just training. Said training that increased their level before.

Craft: The "Gamer" is supposed to be, ... well, a gamer. So, when he unlocked the craft skill, he should have experimented with it a lot. But finally, craft is only used a lot later.

@Skine I don't think I got that far for it to matter that it never really did much.

@Ovnidemon My biggest issue with The Gamer was the fact that it constantly reiterated "this is a game mechanic, this is how the game mechanic works, now do you get it?". I could appreciate that for the first few mechanics and stuff, but literally every time was annoying. Isn't the demographic for The Gamer, gamers? maybe? maybe not? I don't know... but as a gamer, being told gaming mechanics and how they worked every time drove me insane.

With that said, it's kind of why I like Solo Leveling so much. It doesn't pander to a "dumb audience", he's "the player", gets OP, and we as readers can see that improvement through the status window and the stuff he does.

@AstroCoke Agree with you. Plus, they constantly changed the rules. Most gamers like that they can predict and control the rules of a game. But if the rules change constantly, it's frustrating at the minimum.
Also, some of the rules made no sense for a game. Sometimes I was "Did the author ever played a game?"

The beginning was good, relying on the strength and weaknesses of the MC to solve a puzzle which wasn't as difficult as it was intimidating.

Afterwards though we get the now trite "RPG system IRL" which is seen in isekai and much else, and the protagonist's personality turns into that of the evil mob characters in "Dice" by Hyunseok Yun.

My takeaway from reading this is that Dice was better than I thought, and that I have to read it again. Which just about sums up why I am not a fan.

o.o this is really nice! I can't wait for more chapters
The main character's development is quite interesting, the art is good and the plot kept me reading through the whole thing without stopping.
Perhaps I like it so much because I've only read a couple of this kind and they all have been pretty shitty so far, but this one is not boring at all! I hope we get to see the rest soon.

For chapter 27 (already on Meraki scans as of now)

The power creep is way too much unless there's something above S grade (picked it up at chapter 18 or something so it could have been explained earlier so sue me. SS grade sounds reasonable now that I think about it but whatever).

There's no way he should be able to go toe to toe with an S grade monster and not do any dmg to it then suddenly enable his willpower angst and 1 shot it.

Stuff like that turns me off this style of character manga like no other.

Oh, okay. When they system asked him what he wanted, he could choose all three rewards, not one of the three. Could have been explained better, we had the impression that only one of them could be chosen.
