The whole ant raid event is completely
turned into humorous from being serious because one guy's name is like Ho Lee Fuk, but it's a Star Wars dick joke instead.

Is the comic better than the novel? I remember the novel to be seriousily average tho but seeing the high ratings on this, I'm not sure anymore

Some part of me wishes that Solo Leveling's author (Gee So-Lyung) did something like Arifureta's, The Gamer's and a lot of other artists did: build the world so that seeing the MC's stats actually mean something to the reader. We never see other people's stats, so we have nothing to compare to. It's a small detail, but every time I see someone new's stats in Ari, I always look back to the MC's stats from 100 chapters ago just to compare them even though every MC of every power fantasy just continually gets stronger.

@crochetcocoking I would put them on the same level/tier to be completely fair to both. The high ratings on this are because power fantasy, whereas LNs are frequently held to a higher standard by readers because there's so many of them. Go read the LN if you want to. I can't guarantee that you won't be disappointed, but it'll at least be an entertaining read.

Damn. Just finished reading the novel.

My feelings, sorta spoilers sorta not:
I feel the same way after the first time I watched Avengers Endgame (I'm not saying it did or did not end like Avengers EG. I am saying they both left me feeling the same way.) I enjoyed the 2-day read and left me feeling satisfied but the ending leaves a lot to be desired. Without spoiling it, the ending is pretty bad.

Big Story Spoilers, along with Avengers EG spoilers:
I wish they didn't shoehorn Jin-Woo into a selfless role. Tony Stark's cause went from self-interest to [him wanting to protect his daughter and wife and bringing his protege back] after suffering a loss. JW's cause went from perseverance and lack of care for his outward appearance straight to selflessness. In the end, his worry for his family has already been satisfied by one of the people he saves. He basically decides to continue his suffering "for the heck of it," even though the people who died before him winning the final fight died because THOSE PEOPLE WERE DUMB. This is no longer selflessness, this is selflessness to the point of ABSURDITY.

I do look forward to seeing Cha Hae-in's date with Jin-Woo, though (in manhwa form). And the Side Story and Epilogue too.

Big Story Spoilers, TL;DR:
TL;DR: Pretty good manga made less good by shitty ending.

Do I think it is a masterpiece like Eromanga Sensei? No. Do I think it is a disaster trash fire like SAO? No.

as LN reader I'm gonna say next chapter will be still nothing (mostly because it will end as in rather predictable way) compared to hype during ant arc
