Except I have seen far too many bright eyed kids who enter a field thinking that they will do their dream job or project only for reality hit like brick. And if not for the student loans that they are on they would have quit and worked somewhere else. The duality of man. Though I agree with Kaarme. Finding something that inspires you doesn't mean you have to work on exactly that thing. There are a lot of related fields, since that one virtual doll incorporates several disciplines, like 3D projection, AI, art, and animation.
Sure, but Nanami didn't exactly have that dream for that long before deciding, so it's not a solid and specific dream. She was already interested in that field, and that mostly provided a direction. My view on it is that her actual wish is to work within the field of human-computer interaction, rather than on that specific project, even if that's what inspired her.Except I have seen far too many bright eyed kids who enter a field thinking that they will do their dream job or project only for reality hit like brick.
Can't relate. Don't live in a country where people get skinned trying to get educated. And if not for the student loans that they are on they would have quit and worked somewhere else.
Me reading this while in my hotel room at a DOD conference.....At least Nanami will be a great breadwinner when this career path inevitably leads to being a DARPA contractor.
I was clear on what I said. So not sure why trying to take my opinion to mean something else? It is an advice to people who I unfortunately seen one too many off in workplace to avoid such trap.Sure, but Nanami didn't exactly have that dream for that long before deciding, so it's not a solid and specific dream. You mean you're taking a situation to mean something else for the purpose of your argument, and now you're calling me out for exactly what you're doing yourself, when I try to relate it to the actual situation shown in the manga rather than the made-up scenario you're talking about?I was clear on what I said. Still, it's just to pick "what should I study next" - and it's a lot easier to get good grades and come out of education faster if you actually like what you're studying. That is one bad carrier choice! It is like saying you want to be a Disney chief and then reality hits that they don't need any chiefs when you finally graduate from school and have to work in other places.
Kids don't be like her please!
