Having said that I don't understand why the fuck is the author's editor allowing this, at this rate the story is going to get axed
It won't end so quickly, as this is a High School Rom-Com.

That means, whether it's a hit or a flop series, they would cover the story until the main characters finish their High School life.

And both Gojo & Marin are 1st year, so they still have 2 years left of their High School life (i think, don't remember whether they are already in 2nd year or not), unless someone gets shifted to some other place, like Marin having to move away after maybe she chooses to become a Full Time Contracted Cosplayer.

Thanks for the update but man... Feels like everything has gotten so slow ever since the coffin cosplay stuff. Was Non Chan introduced before? I don't remember this character at all lol
I think non-chan was the girl at the start? In like chapter 1/2 who says Tojo playing with dolls was weird/gross (can’t remember)

It's interesting to see that people are looking fir the costume designer as well not just the cosplayer so that's definetaly a new thread the story can explore.
If they can find a costumer who the author is willing to approve, they can finally put a photoshoot of their most popular series on the cover. (I'm assuming this is one of the manga magazines that has models on the cover instead of illustrations, as part of the brand identity and target demographic.)

The author has also refused any live-action adaptations, but I assume you'd need more than one costumer on board to make that happen.

Just gonna say this now, I HIGHLY doubt we're getting a love triangle or that Non-chan will be an actual love rival. At best I can see her having a past crush on him, but I doubt she'll bring romantic conflict or be in loce with him.

If I'm wrong feel free to quote this and laugh at me in the future.

I wouldn't call this one forced. It was set up to happen.
It's not about individual events but about the timing of said events.

The very second there are issues in their relationship, past trauma reappears after years and years, and at a very second they are going to have a serious talk no less. I'm still not sure what Gojo's issue is or if/how it will relate to his past, but instead of resolving this throughout the arc, they are pushing another layer on top of it.

Currently, I feel like we are being trapped in an avalanche and a volcano exploded from the side. Possible? Sure. But what are the odds?

It also feels like we have a slow-burn arc, that had no buildup. So instead of the current Nagatoro situation, where slow burn feels like a culmination of the series so far was given space to be appreciated and enjoyed, here it's just slow. And confusing.

For me, i think she would be causing more issue which would emotionally separate Gojo and Marin more, like saying that
  • Gojo should give up on becoming a Hina Doll maker, or
  • blame Marin for getting Gojo involved in Cosplay industry as it's nasty or something.

So Granpa is %100 gonna die before he can see his work huh? Since we are going through the cliche story beats one by one, that should be next in line closer to the finish.

Also another half a chapter dedicated to wanking over the cosplay lol.

You don't think past trauma is appearing now specifically so these issues in their relationship can be resolved? This is literally the root cause of Gojo's issues. They can't get together until he moves on from it.

I think it's the second. Because first one would be really a bad trope and unrealistic. Non-chan is a grown-up person. And Hina doll craft is a real craftsmanship that's being paid reasonably well it seems. Why any actual person would be against it?

its because they changed the magazine they were serializing in, but didn't change the pace of story to match up so it feels like a snail because these chapters were thought for a weekly basis but are being published in a monthly magazine. Having said that I don't understand why the fuck is the author's editor allowing this, at this rate the story is going to get axed
Wrong, manga is still published in the same magazine which is Young Gangan (published on the 1st and 3rd friday of each month), author always used to skip a issue after the 3rd chapter, but during that arc (chapter 96) they decided to temporarily changed the schedule to be monthly because the arc supposedly needed more time to be worked on, but with a few more pages to compensate, until the previous chapter they had those extra pages (probably skipping a month to work on the volume release, she forgot about that)

I like how confident you are at being wrong tho

Non-chan? The girl who put our MC in the emotional fragile state that he is? She's back? Why?
I mean, if this was the mangaka's way of getting the romance back into the picture, it seems like the most contrived way to do so

I can't even tell what Gojo's issue with the cosplay event was. Was it related to their difference in "cast", or her being "taken away", or him being conflicted between focusing on cosplay and dolls, or something else completely?

I don't think his issues with Non-chan should be related to what is currently happening to him. All I can think of, future plot-wise, is that Marin started to break through his walls, and now the reason for the walls reappears, which will make resolving the actual problem harder.

Because some believe it is a dying industry, and even if it pays reasonably well, it isn't enough compared to current standards.

While it's not a direct comparison, i do know from some documentaries that Japanese Ink Block/Stick industry is slowly dying out, as there aren't enough craftsmen working in the trade to create them, and it's currently run by mostly old people, even though the earnings is quite well, and Ink Block/Stick craftsman have quite a high status in Japanese society.
