Every damn time, even when it's not this sudden, I always wish there was one more big arc.

May I suggest for everyone to watch the "Castle" tv series.
The mains get together halfway(kind of a spoiler but it's obvious from the start), and the series, which is already plenty fun, becomes even better for it.

Well that's unfortunate . I doubt this series is getting axed, so I wonder if the author is ready to just take a break after having a fairly successful series. In the past publishing companies wouldn't let good stories be retired (like Yakitate Japan), but maybe it's a good thing that authors have more control over their lives instead of slaving away and burning out. Bummer to see such a good series go though. I'm glad it stayed fairly drama free and stayed as a great feel good read for its entirety.

It is definitely sudden. It is sad to not see them truly develop as a couple. This was a wonderful series with amazing illustrations. I only wish it would continue longer so we can see the ins and outs of their life and career developments.

and THIS is why i am super hesitant to buy physical manga volumes of series that are not yet completed. so many series i loved had shitty/rushed endings that left me with a sour aftertaste in my mouth, and i have a bad premonition that this one will be one of them...

Man...I am glad when mangaka end when they want to but this feels really off. Could be health? Or could be they took too long establishing the relationship. The angst arc and horror cosplay arcs weren't my favorites. Sad to see another one biting the dust RIGHT after they get together. Hope the mangaka gets some quality rest tho.

While I was reading I was thinking it felt kind of last chapter/epilogue feeling, but to see its actually gonna end has me reeling.

Most of the time I don't care, but I actually need a time skip of these too, like badly.

This has me sincerely shocked. Like.... even with them getting together there's still a lot more that could've been done with these two. But then again given the mangaka shut down the idea of Marin pursuing cosplay as anything more than a hobby, perhaps this is something that they were already heading towards. Especially if as prior comments said, the manga is supposedly ending for the sake of the mangaka's mental health.

While an abrupt end is far from ideal, it's better than the downward spiral that can come from writing in a bad headspace. Or worst case scenario, getting no ending at all.
